Mina, Keane and Mason are just not up to it against a pressing side, perhaps better against a team that sits back though.

But teams soon realise that we aren't very good at it and then start pressing. It usually starts with Pickford rolling it out to someone who has an attacker breathing down his neck. Self inflicted pressure.

Stability is a much underrated condition few of us like to be taken out of our comfort zone especially if the wheels fall off and you look even more of a bell as a result the Liverpool game being a monstrous example. But it happened under Martinez the Moyes boys were never on board with his revolution and sure enough downed tools when the opportunity presented. Fortunately this low point has happened early on and if Carlo has the money to weed them out we can look forward to better things sooner rather than later
Do u think that like the fans the players seen the draw and went “Ar well we lost that”.. then come game week they where still thinking “we lost this”, then the team sheet came out and they went “O damn we can’t get beat by these” and panicked and it result in a woeful performance.

Sounds mad to think a footballer might think, that’s a loss but I can well believe it

We played badly cos various managers could not put a side together nor could they get them playing anywhere near their max levels. I guarantee you Klopp and Pep could get a tune out of this squad.
It is mad how loads of you have decided it is not the manager (who hires, trains and motivates the squad, that's his job) but the players.
Have you ever watched an Everton match? Not sure you have..

The players gave up on Sunday. If it’s Ancelotti fault how do u explain Sigi not touching the ball for 21 minutes in the 5-2 and only touching the ball 35 times in 65 minutes, making 1 tackle and winning 0 duels on Sunday, in fact watch the game again..at one point the ball played to Sigi feet, nearest Liverpool player is 5 yards behind him, he miss controls the ball and it rolls away from him, guess who gets the balls 1st.. here a clue it’s ain’t a player in blue

Yes mate, we get it, Schneids and Gylf were crap, stop bleating about it. All 15 players used were crap. Now you can believe that we have spent 300 mil on a team of internationals who cannot beat a team of kids OR try and understand that all is not rosie within the ranks and hasn't been for some time. They players look lost, dejected, unsure of who is meant to be doing what exactly. My point regarding Carlo was that he insisted on playing out from the back against a high press team with our defenders who obviously could not hack it, a DM who is an AM (gylf) and a slug that is Schneids, it was NEVER going to work

When it was plainly obvious to everyone around me that paying from the back was not working, the players were totally showing that in their demeanour and had not been versed well enough to play the way they had been asked. It is not a mystery, Carlo is still the best manager we could ever hope for but, in this instance, with a new team, he made the wrong decision and stuck with it pretty much. I am sure he learned a lot from it and will not do it again with the same personnel.

As a man with a distance on the city and the country, I haven't really spoken to more than a handful of other Everton fans for a few years until I joined here in July... I don't read other clubs forums but I can't believe there is any other fan base who revel in hating everything about their club as much as some of us do.

Nah all the forums are just as bad tbh.

In fact some are much worse, as there seems to be very liberal moderation on some of them.

I always remember @Yid4life posting about stuff going on, on one of the Spurs forums, where people were threatening to stab each other lol

I'm starting to sound very anti-Pickford at the moment, but really he needs to calm down and take his time or if he is playing quickly, have confidence in any early releasing of the ball back into play. A fast kick or throw can be a great platform to build on, but Pickford has been letting the team down with his panicked distribution.

This could be a simple correction to make that would reduce pressure on us. Or he might not have it in him.

I don’t believe he told them to play out from the back, even if he did they should be able to pass to each other. you can’t say it’s all his fault, these players downed tools in that second half, do u agree with that?

AFTV that’s far worse then we will ever be

I don’t believe he told them to play out from the back - really? It is almost all they did, they hated it, Jord wanted to launch it and instead had to roll it to Yerry, it was farcical at times. They could not pass to each other cos they were swarmed by a bunch of 18 year old scamps.IT WAS NOT WORKING AND ONLY ONE MAN COULD MAKE THE CHANGE.

these players downed tools in that second half, do u agree with that? They didn't down tools, they were just shot, they are pro footballers, athletes and winners, they dont want to lose and look like utter ****s in front of 40k people and on tv around the world. It was a bad day at the office but to single out players for the amount of hate I have reading and hearing is totally blind to the bigger picture and sums up our fan base. It will only benefit Brighton on Saturday.

I don’t for one minute believe even this group of players are dense enough to try and blame the tactics for that second half showing on Sunday.

Was Carlo’s tactics to have our centre backs and midfield pass it amongst themselves whilst standing stationary until they had no option to pass it back to Pickford, who was then told to hoof it into touch or straight to a RS player?

Did he tell them to offer each other no support when they were being closed down by 2-3 red shirts and leaving the player in possession nowhere to turn?

Did he tell them to pass it straight to an opposition player even when a pass to a team-mate wasn’t a difficult option?

These players shitthebed on Sunday and were outworked and outfought for the whole second half.

Exactly. This nonsense about not hitting it long. We did, about 5 times, and it came straight back at us every time.
