The Napoli owners very public scrap with the players was the catalyst for lack of progress....that’s clearly not down to Signor Ancelotti. He was brought in to ensure Napoli continued to compete. He failed.
Hearing him in his press conference. Not a great guide, but listening to him, it just gave me a gut feeling. I could be completely wrong of course, but from that and what others have said about him I genuinely think he could be a very good manager.Putting the cones out for Pep or that defeat he had in his one and only game?
Signed his own death warrant siding with the players. Maybe he wanted out? Maybe it was a power play? Either way, was not the smartest move. The Napoli owners very public scrap with the players was the catalyst for lack of progress....that’s clearly not down to Signor Ancelotti.
called form mate. They went from playing exciting direct attacking football under Heynkes to Tiki-taka. Heynkes absolutely destroyed the Barca style and it seemed like the dawn of a new era. Unfortunately the Bayern board threw their own style out of the window and went for the fashionable option.
Don’t you remember:
“Bayern faced Barcelona at the semi-final stage, thrashing the favourites 7–0 on aggregate to reach a second successive final.”
Or
”And if Bayern's first-leg demolition shook Europe, their second-leg dominance should ensure even bigger reverberations - such was the magnitude of their dominance in the Nou Camp.
”From Mario Mandzukic's selfless work as the lone striker, to the slick pass-and-move skills of those behind him, the visitors outplayed Tito Vilanova's side.
”Their ruthlessly efficient counter-attacks always carried a goal threat, to the extent that Barcelona were reluctant to commit enough men forward to seriously test the stout Bayern defence.“

If the owners are not the best then maybe it was. What can you lose if you are a wealthy man with a contract? Or maybe he had A. The principal to stand up to unjust treatment of HIS players, and B. The confidence he could get a job anywhere else.Signed his own death warrant siding with the players. Maybe he wanted out? Maybe it was a power play? Either way, was not the smartest move.

Did you watch them under Heynkes and Guardiola?!?called form mate.
I didn’t say it was Guardiola’s Barcelona he beat. But it was essentially the same team playing the same style under his former assistant manager.Firstly if you are going to bring up a manager to make a point please learn how to spell his name. It is Heynckes not Heynkes.
Secondly it wasn't Guardiola's Barca that they beat 7-0 but Vilanova's.
Thirdly it wasn't Guardiola who was sacked halfway through the season it was Ancelotti.x x o
Was it unfair? The owner seemed in the right to me on this occasion. Players get it too easy nowadaysOr maybe he had A. The principal to stand up to unjust treatment of HIS players, and B. The confidence he could get a job anywhere else.
Its amazing how much easier it is to do A, knowing it may cost you a job, when you have B. Its something you cant do in your early years in a profession.
ok...he is rubbishDid you watch them under Heynkes and Guardiola?!?
Under Guardiola's guidance, Bayern won three consecutive Bundesliga titles along with the DFB-Pokal twice.
Having taken over from Jupp Heynckes, who took Bayern to the treble -- Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal -- the Spanish coach failed to win the Champions League in his time there.
"He was okay at Bayern Munich. I have to say he was okay," Schmeichel told Omnisport.
"For me, personally, he changed a really good, entertaining team to be become more boring to watch.
"Whereas Bayern before were very direct, they won the treble, had quick players and were exciting to watch, he [Guardiola] made them play more square. He changed the players, but you can't argue with his results."
Schmeichel: Guardiola made Bayern boring
Peter Schmeichel has upped the ante for the Manchester derby, when he said that Pep Guardiola made Bayern Munich a "more boring" team to watch.www.espn.com
