I probably agree to be honest, although Mina has become more and more consistent, perhaps being more comfortable with language has helped.

My fear with Mina is he looks clumsy and perhaps its harsh to say this, but feel hes got the Distin about him. Generally pretty good, strong but you just know there is a silly mistake in there.

Distin was class for us.

Would be delighted if Mina could sustain top performances like that

he was a very good player for us I agree mate, but he did have an error in him. They all do but he just had that 'clumsy' factor.

To be honest i think that tag is unfair on Distin.

He made a very high profile error in the FA Cup semi final against the RS in a game that we were cruising in. That stays in peoples minds

But apart from that I genuinely dont remember him making any other howlers

Being physically strong doesn't make you a grock. You say its not an iassue but my posts related back to Stones/Holgate. See the rest of my posts where I say he's fine partnered with Mina as they compliment each other with different skills.

Works the same way with Mina and Keane really, disastrous together as they dont provide different things.
Stones isn't an issue as he doesn't play for us and it's highly unlikely he ever will again. You seem to be pushing the idea that Holgate isn't in some way dominant,I'm putting forward that dominance isn't necessarily physical. Going back some time Des Walker dominated forwards with pace and position,as I believe Holgate will go on to do.

If Dustin got to the club 5 years earlier he would be a club legend. He was a rock for the vast majority of his time here.

I was pushing that Holgate isn't dominant because he isn't strong. I agree you can still be a clever defender. Look at my posts though, I responded to someone, i think Zatara, who mentioned about HOlgate and Stones being a good pairing and that is where this discussion has come from. So Stones is relevant....

I did say it was probably harsh, but just because others may not have led to goals doesn't mean he hasn't made errors.

If he was still able to play, I'd have him back in a heartbeat over any of our current defenders. He was very, very good for us.

I think you are right, in that Mina looks clumsy, not too worried about that, but always looks like he is rushing into tackles without thinking or holding off and making his opponent go the way Mina wants him to, but he is still young and under Ancelotti he can become a better player.

Yeah man, forever haunted by that mistake. But otherwise was a top class CB for us.

Except he can't defend so not relevant when talking about defences. Stones did not become what he promised.
