I found this interesting and not just the stats but also the part where he points out how bad our decision making is in attack. That's one of the things that makes Pep teams so devastating. They make the right choices such a high percentage of the time that very few attacks are just outright wasted.
The lack of passing close to the opponents goal is why Iwobi will continue to get chances the rest of this season. Gomes being back should help us there too, but honestly I think it is an area he's never been the best at. The need for improved creative play in our team remains very high.

Yeah that's fine and I figured most people would, but I think what came after that is a good illustration of what Carlo is up against. Gylfi picking the ball up 25 yards from goal with no one near him and launching one at the corner flag is horrid. Decision making in dangerous areas matters a lot.

I don't think it quite registered for me as it was happening just how impressive bringing him in here is. His sides have regularly scored 100+ league goals. I know he's managed some incredible talent, but other managers aren't just doing that all the time. Really it is him and Pep who have pulled that off in multiple leagues.
Applying that to us now, you can see how much progress we've made in creating chances. We aren't all the way there in open play yet, but it's better, and he's done a superb job of making us a legit threat from set plays. And we really should be given the abilities of Mina, Dom and Richarlison in the air and whoever between Baines, Digne and Gylfi is available to take the dead balls.
