Before he signed, I had conversations with him, and I was a little conservative. I knew where he’d worked and what purchases he’d made before.

“How’s he doing with Everton? Does he think he can do the same here? We don’t have that kind of ability.

“But he was behind the whole project from day one. He wants to help build. It’s a little different than he did before.”

Carlo is fully behind spending no money.

Why is here then? Never not competed at any clubs since his first job.

He's playing the old Italian trick. Tell them you love them then take him for a drive and their never seen again.

Keane is on borrowed time

Ancelotti seems to be buttering up a few there and Brands deliberately not mentioning multiple positions or particular areas so not so upset players before the season ends.

I dont read it like that myself...i think Ancelotti is onboard to build a winning team and has said that players will come in.

Brands i think is tempering that by saying we will sign 3 players and move on deadwood. Then of course i think if we can shift on players for decent fees we will sign more and if not they stay in the squad due to FFP.

I've just read Carlo's programme notes in the programme that my lovely wife bought me for Fathers' Day and what a truly inspirational man he is!
He gets the club. He gets the fans. He gets the players. He gets the community we are lucky enough to be part of.
More importantly, in my opinion, he gets what's been going on in the world and how football fits in with the current crisis.
If we can't have success with Carlo, then I'd like to know who we can have success with.
What a man!!!

I read it more that he wasn't expecting big names tbh. We have to build a team we aren't going to lash in five world class players into the team like PSG did over a few years are we ? We have to bring in players with potential that improve us if it's two or three each window that do that we will be building.
