m8 the goals we have conceded since restart have been some absolute clown fiesta luck, I wouldn't even put it down to bad defending.

That's true. I think we defended well for 4 games.

The goal we conceded yesterday was a bit of a freak, but we actually didn't defend well yesterday. We should have conceded on one or two other occasions.

I'm not convinced with us defensively when Mina is in the team. I think he was fairly poor yesterday.

These games are of huge value to the manager. This is like the beginning of a new season after having a pre season and he also had four months before lockdown to learn about his players.

If nothing else recent performances have shown that without further investment we are a team that when everybody is fit can finish possibly as high as eight or as low as twelfth or so.
CA was not brought to Everton to manage that team and I have no doubt the manager would have no interest in a long term stay if all he had to work with is the current squad.

I do also believe that the team does not need a complete overhaul. I think a couple of midfielders who can increase the tempo of our play and get around the field more quickly would change the performance of the whole team.

A well rounded CM and a wideman who can add goals and assists to the team. Honestly add that and this team finishes about 15-20 points better off next season.

Given our current options, we should be giving Benni a go. At least he's a DM. None of our other options are.

He just might not be seen as good enough mate.

We still have the difference in prize money, from 11th to 14th, to play for. That is worth about £6m, which in the current climate is huge for the club.

I think he'll be tweaking the formation with Sidibe now back - Coleman dropping into a back 3, Digne and Sidibe providing the width going forward, it allowed us to look like a functioning football team for periods of the second half

How he continues to grind out results with a side that’s got so many glaring inadequacies is incredible tbh.

Tactically and game management wise, he’s miles ahead anyone we’ve had in living memory imo.

We need to find a way of giving him the tools he needs to take the team forward.

Really? I think the opposite.

I bet hes looking at this and excited to build something over the next 5 seasons minimum.

Shape something exactly how he wants it.
I mean I think he’ll be seething at the players we already have because on paper it’s a decent team but very few of them actually play like they’re decent

The past 3 goals have been complete freaks. One off a face he knew nothing about, an OG, and a scuffed shot that someone went to a player who I think was offside if we got those stupid lines out and spent 5 mins to see if his toe was off (but didn't)

The great thing about Carlo is he's tactically adaptable. We suffered for so long with managers who persisted with their 'system' even though everyone else in the world could see the turgid results week after week. Big test now is his recruitment - he's shown (like anyone ever doubted) that he's tactically astute so the next step is to be astute in the transfer market and to bring in a few players with the quality to really open up the options tactically for him. Fingers crossed.

He might not be good enough but we know Gomes, Siggurdson and Davies are definitely not good enough in that position. Sometimes players step up when they need to. Holgate did.

Difference there mate is Holgate had a successful loan last season and played lots of League football.

I think a shift in formation will be required on Sunday, rather than just dropping Beni to a midfield two. We clearly look better with a more packed central midfield.

SOME OF THE ANCELOTTI PRE MATCH WOLVES P/C

Ancelotti On Anthony Gordon
He has improved. If he didn’t improve he wouldn’t play!
The fact he plays means he is doing well. He is focused and has quality.
He is an important player for us and for the future.

Yerry Mina Performance
His performance was good, better in the second-half than in the first-half.
His injury is gone, he is quite fresh. I think he can play on Sunday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Hint
The fact they have had one more day rest is important.
I have to take care of the line-up. I want to keep it fresh and do some changes for the game.
We don’t have time to recover properly.

Wolves Preview
It will be tough, for sure. Wolves are fighting for Europe so I expect a really tough game.
We want to keep fighting and keep going until the end of the season.

More Intelligence Needed
Physically we are not 100% so we have to play an intelligent game.
Defensively we have to do better compared with the first-half of yesterday.
We have to be intelligent to manage the situation of the game.

Andre Gomes Injury Latest
Andre Gomes will be assessed tomorrow before training.
He is not a big problem, he had a knock on his ankle. Today he is a little stiff but we hope he can play Sunday.
We will check tomorrow.

Holgate Latest
Check on Him Tomorrow

Injury Latest
Carlo Ancelotti is asked if anyone else is coming back.
No,” he says.
Fabian Delph and Theo Walcott look set to miss out at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Richarlison Goal Target
20 goals is the minimum I expect from him.
He is young but has a lot of quality and character. He is really cool in front of goal.
Every one of us is really happy to have this type of striker.

Richarlison Praise
I think he is going to improve with more experience and more knowledge.
His quality is really good and he is a complete striker; comfortable inside the box, outside the box and in counter-attack.
He is the complete striker. He can play on the right, the left and up-front.
He is a really good player for us.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin Advice
He cannot think to score goals because this can be an obsession.
He needs to be quiet and calm and the goal comes.

Away Form
We have to improve the personality and the courage.
More personality, more character and that is it.
For this kind of game we have to have this.
we are used to having at home, but find more difficult away.

Fabian Delph Progress
He is recovering but it takes time because he had an injury on his calf that he had before so we have to take care of this. I'm sure he will be able to come back before the end of the season but the priority is to recover well & properly

VAR Consideration
I think that the system is working when the television is switched on.
Sometimes I think the TV switches off and they cannot see the review.
That happened last night and also Manchester United and Tottenham against Bournemouth.
They have to switch on the television. Sometimes they are not able to use it in the right way.
With more knowledge we can have less mistakes.”

I thought Walcott was on the bench yesterday, so surely he's not injured again?
