Absolutely, but that will need some much improved recruitment and that falls at the door of the DOF, not the manager.

That is why I would much prefer the manager to be in charge of recruitment.
I've never really got this DoF thing, for me it's a dead wage. A competent manager knows the system he wants to play and the players he thinks can execute it.
Chief scout ok.

We won 5 out of 7 earlier on in the season... so it is possible.

More chance of a night with Katie Price mate.

4 behind Spurs/RS with vastly worse GD - tomorrow is a must win considering City away last game of the season is likely a draw at best.

We slipped up big time against Spurs.

I've seen Katie price referenced quite a few times lately, has anyone taken a look at it lately? Absolute boiler lets bring it more upto date with either refs to Amanda holden or Margot Robbie come on lads move with the times these girls are the future price is so European super league.

Plenty of managers seem OK with it though.

The DOF isn't just the boss of the scouts. They are responsible for the entire scouting network, the academy structure, negotiating transfers, talking with agents, acting as a go between with a board and chair often based in another country and plenty of other things. Every club is looking all over the world for their recruitment and transfers are a lot more complicated with more parties involved. As paying millions is the norm for buying players then any recruitment has to go through more checks and balances.

The fact that most clubs are now investments and aren't at the absolute centre of their owner's business means there is a need for someone to do that day to day role as well.

Managers don't have the time to run clubs the way they used to given the financial landscape and media coverage of football now.

A winner with Argentina and in the Argentina league. EL runner up.
Argentina....1998-2004

1999 Copa America - Knocked out in first knockout round
2002 World Cup - Knocked out in Group Stage
2004 Copa America - Beaten finalist
2004 Olympics - Winner .The Olympics was an U23 competition with 3 overage players and was missing several of the world's traditional footballing nations.

I like Bielsa Dave but I'd argue that his questionable achievements as Argentina boss or his spell in domestic South American football before the formation of the PL are completely relevant to the discussion of his merits currently.

He revolutionised the way teams play. Look at what he did at Chile. That was the basis for their domination of South American football in two consecutive Copa Americas.

And yet Brands does very little.
