Every manager we have always paints this picture that we were cut adrift at the bottom when they joined and they’ve heroically lifted us to mid table, a place evertonians could only have dreamt about before their arrival.

Gets boring, hows about a bit of accountability- with a front three of colombia’s best player, a regular brazilian international hitherto coveted across europe and the best young english centre forward supported by two of his own signings in the middle of the park he was incapable of crafting any sort of attacking play - by the end of the season even the poor sides had figured out to play us and he no answer for it.

Anyone listen to the latest Transfer Window podcast? They claim that Carlo had a clause in his contract where he could leave for certain named clubs (including Real Madrid) for zero compensation. Madrid simply triggered the clause, which is why everything happened so quickly.

Has there been anything else reported anywhere that confirms or refutes this?
