Thanks for the cryptic

Its not. We went over and over this last week about leicester with him. He got replies but still bangs the drum about them.
Leicester clearly had a good squad. Rodgers is a good manager. He had something to work with.
Every man and his dog knew how unbalanced slow and poor the Everton squad was/is.
I cant think of another club that has had more poor expensive recruitment over the past 4/5 years than Everton.
Wether ancelloti is the answer nobody knows but there is NO quick fix for any manager coming into Everton to undo the mess thats been left by the previous two managers.

This time last year the narrative on here was that there wouldn’t be one Leicester player who’d get a game here. (Same as wolves players). Few posts above saying only 6 Spurs players get a game in this team

Id swap leicesters midfield for ours in a heartbeat. Last year and now.
Let them have sigurdsson iwobi and gomez for a while. I could do with a good laugh.

Leicester’s recruitment has been light years ahead of ours - their Side is packed full of young talented pacey players allied to one or two grizzled pros - up their with the best counter attacking sides in the league.

Combined team.
lloris
Doherty Toby Holgate Digne
Sissiko Allan James
Son Kane Richarlison
I’d suggest 5 of our players would get in a combined 11 but their bench far exceeds anything we could offer and ultimately a team is judged on the strength of its squad. Mourinho has inherited a far better squad then Carlo, that there is no doubt.
Deffo. our first 11 is fine. It's when 1 or 2 start getting injured/suspended that we start having problems. There's a serious amount of work needed on the squad.

We paid Leicester £2m compo to get Steve Walsh off them.

Let that sink in.

While they were buying youri tielemans and james maddisons we were buying yannick bolasies and gylfi sigurdssons.
Enough to make you cry.

If I were moshiri I’d have kneecapped our recruitment team - the money that’s been spent on this side since he joined the club should have had us up in the top 4 - below city and the rs obviously but still.

Look at bolasie walcott Williams Schneiderlin sigurdsson iwobi and then ask yourself why were we paying such massively high prices for them - who was our competition - no top side was going to touch them with a barge pole and there’s no other side below that level with the sort of funds to afford the transfer fee plus the wages - madness. And that’s before you think of the strategic stupidity of handing a direct rival in arsenal £50m for squad players to in order for them to invest in their side.

we’ve then ventured into the foreign market yet when I see the likes of Mina bernard Gomes to sun I think they’ve been bought by someone who doesn’t watch english football - nice footballers but can’t handle the physical challenge this league presents. Watching players just walk past Gomes, Mina running in treacle against the geordies, Bernard getting swatted off the ball, tosun getting dominated by bigger, quicker, stronger centre halfs.

The reason why I’m happy to give carlo some real rebuilding time is that whilst the first 11 is reasonable the depth is non existent- will take a number of transfer windows to fix

I could have wrote all that myself mate. Exactly my thoughts.
We've shot ourselves in the foot the past 5 years. Iwobi was the last straw for me. An absolute disaster signing and if brands was the main reason then he should either walk or get his act together.

When we bought iwobi I went on the Arsenal forums and they were incredulous at the fee and I knew then we’d bought a pup - still can’t understand how you can try and buy zaha then decide iwobi is your second choice - couldn’t be more different as types of players

And, yet, he had 6 weeks with the team to understand who was poor and who needed improvement on and we did nothing on it. And here we are thinkgin that the same manager and DoF are going to be making changes this January as well.
But they have done something on it. Yes we’re a long way from what we want, who knows if it will improve enough. But we’re in a better place than we have been for years.

Cba with all the negativity in here because we’ve had a run of 3 bad games. Didn’t see half the amount of optimism when we won 4 in a row.

I feel like a few in here just relish the negativity.

He could lose again today and I still have 100% belief that he’s the right man for the job.

2 things

1. Carlo may be giving Gylfi his shot to see if he can do it.

2. more importantly he’s Carlo Fn Ancelloti. Barring a <15th finish he’s not going anywhere because if we’re the club that ran off Carlo Ancelotti we’re radioactive to any decent manager or player. We’d be lucky to get someone with the upside snd resume of Marco Silva.

I think its a message to the board personally, kind of a 'look at the crap you're making me play, get the chequebook out' kind of message.
