I get that and of course we all want to see an exciting Everton team, personally if Ancelotti left tomorrow and the choice was mourinho or Bielsa.

It Would be mourinho all day for me, because he’s a winner and proved he can get results, even If it all goes pear shaped 2/3 years later.

Bielsa is doing a great job at Leeds and if they keep playing this way and entertaining. I’m sure Leeds fans will be over the moon. And if he keeps them mid table for 3 years, even if they don’t win anything or qualify fir Europe, I’m still sure Leeds fans will be happy after 16 years out of the top flight.

Managing Everton is a totally different ball game. Would Bielsa be getting more out of our players the moment?
Possibly, but would he get the time, unfortunately we are desperate for success Abd every manager is bang under pressure.

Ancelotti I feel will get more time off the fans, because of his stature in the game. And I believe he would be more likely to deliver success eventually , than Bielsa would.

Of course time will tell.
To me Carlo body language ain't right ATM - he looks fed up - maybe justified on how his players are perfoming, but his formations forced by injuries are totally baffling to me & most blues like today his
Line up was flawed it took a team who had scored 4 all season to take less than 3 minutes to score a five man defence v a team next to bottom with one win ?
Something is not right as we are on a very bad run - even the substitutes bench is below par - he did nherit a poor squad, but don't put slow players on the bench when we need pace in defence plus midfield.....The two fullbacks on the books need to be in the team or at least one on the pitch ......
We when going forwards look like scoring so if he keeps to basics we can rebuild in January, and get rid of more deadwood........hope so.......

Comon we played such Negative football, played more square pegs in round holes and somehow got wins and draws which if we are honest we we’re lucky to be in 8th. We got beat by 5 goals away to Tottenham and Arsenal, United and City beat us by 3 at home and i could have counted the shots in them games on one hand. Carlo has his work cut out and making mistake but it took me alll my strength and resolve to turn up at matches under Big Sam. He done a job and I thank him for that when we was in a panic. End of
I remember we played over Christmas and in 4 games we had around 4 shots. Not 4 shots on target 4 shots. Look it up.

But wolves are a negative boring team. That stat doing the rounds last week.

85 games in the premier league, since they came up. They have gone in at halftime goalless in 60 of them.
That is why I said for differing reasons. Tactically wolves are a joy to watch.

They suck teams in and then beat the press with long diagonals. They run teams in to the ground and then use their options on the bench to destroy teams second half.

They have a very rigid way of playing but incorporate real talent within that. Nuno is a seriously talented coach.

Thanks for reminding me of that Ajax team.

Hands down one of the most talented teams I have ever seen. Even now I look at the squad and say wow did he really play for them.
I didn't know he played for the 70's team lol. I was talking about him managing the 90's ajax team . And of course the Barcelona and bayern Munich teams. van gaal definitely has a comparable record to carlo imo.

Yes, and I respect that. We just have a slightly different philosophy. I admire coaches like Bielsa, Zeman, Cruyff, Eggen, La Volpe, Lillo, who believe attack is the best defense and that football should be entertaining. A trophy is great, but results are not everything.

Love coaches who force opposition teams to defend by over loading the attack and pressing high. It's risky but a great watch. Putting opponents on the back foot immediately is a great psychological ploy.

Our kick offs go
. Kick off taker passes to centre back
. Centre back controls ball
. Fellow centre back hits ball upfield
. We concede a corner/possession

infuriates me why we just don’t keep the ball!

It might sound like heresy but I would take the 95 Champions League team over the early 70's team every day of the week.

Van der Sar, Reiziger, Blind, Rijkaard, F de Boer, Seedorf (Kanu 53), Davids, Litmanen (Kluivert 70), George, Overmars, R de Boer.

That is one seriously talented team.

I remember it well and it was a fantastic side. They have produced some amazing players over the years. I never had the pleasure of seeing the 70's Ajax side, so I'll take your word on that.

Yes, a small detail that you can notice is how our players stop the ball during the control phase. It's a small detail, but it leads to opponents coming up in pressure quickly, and it reduces our playing speed and leads to poor playing rhythm. They often have the wrong body position, and therefore the field of vision is limited. When they are pressured, they become stressed, because they have not done these simple steps correctly. This often leads to us losing the ball.

Rinus Michels is an absolute idol of mine and one of the most underrated coaches of all time. However, even at their peak the great Ajax teams of the 70's only had 4 or 5 top class players.

That 95 side had 13 or 14 top players.

It’s a tough job, but he knows what he wants he has tried a different system to stop the rot but we need 3 in midfield. I think we have got to give him time to try and implement his plan which hopefullly is a long term plan and he will put it together eventually but it’s not going to happen overnight with this squad. Nuno and BieLisa brought teams into the premier league with a system they have adopted in a lower league then they have built players trust and confidence, and carried it into this division which is possibly easier than Carlos task right now. We may have to endure some pain before gaining some fruits and hopefully it will be worth it.

Ok so we get 8th 10th or 12th this season then Dcl , Richy And Digne leave in the summer what is your aim for next season? Start building again? Aim for what 8th 10th or 12th again.

I think that the ever-changing formations and personnel doesn't help. You watch well drilled teams and a lot of their patterns of play are set moves. Creating triangles and playing through the press. If you play for a well drilled team then your movements especially out of possession become automatic.

That is what happens when you have a set way of playing that you do not deviate from.

But why was he sacked from Napoli? They only lost 16 games in 73. He now rocks up at Everton and has already lost 11 in 34. What if he has lost it? How Everton would that be?

Gutted to say this but the jury is still out and we have seen some very bizarre decisions! Needs to turn it around but I`m not sure that is possible, certainly not this month. Looking at the next 3 months in fact looks remarkably difficult.... It would be interesting to know how many points you guys will feel we will get from that. I reckon 4 from Jan, 3 from Feb and 3 from Feb thats 10 points from 3 months and 15 games. Dont forget form at the moment is 1 win in 7 so it is in keeping with that.

No doubt we are going through a sticky patch. But 1.62 points a game since he arrived would be enough for 5th place over a season.
Keeper, a centre back, a centre midfielder (capable of carrying and passing the ball), we would be close to being a finished article next season in terms of 4th place.
