2020/21 Carlo Ancelotti

James and Allan aren't here to not play in Europe. We "sacrificed" going for youth for immediate success and we achieved that, at first. Now we are crap. You can point to the players all you'd like, it's literally Carlo's job to make sure that the players are ready, up to par in training and on the pitch.

The guy has won almost everything there is to win but he's really been poor these last 6-7 matches. Who's idea was it to take the foot off the gas against Fulham? Why are we gassed after 50 minutes every single match? Why is he shoehorning players into positions they have no idea how to do when we have ACTUAL replacements he isn't even putting on the bench?

His decisions right now are really baffling to be honest. We're not paying him as much as we are to have the run of form we are having. 5 points out of 21 should have EVERYONE asking questions about what is going on at the club at the moment. All the excitement and drive we had at the beginning of the year is completely gone.
Don’t you dare talk common sense. He won a Champions League six years ago!!!

I mean, the pressure SHOULD be mounting for him. We are terrible at the moment.

Doesn't mean, in any way, I want him out tho. He just seriously needs to start bucking up his ideas.

People will laugh but these next 4 games will make or break our season imo

Chelsea H
Leicester A
Arsenal H
Man Utd H (quarter final)

Chelsea are in good form but Leicester and Arsenal are starting to stumble and Utd are very good away from home.

If we continue sliding then we could be in the bottom half come new year and out of the cup whilst also being potentially a good 5-6 points off europe giving us too much to do like last season.

Likewise if he sorts it out, goes back to 433 and tightens up the midfield we have it all to play for.

We all agree with you he needs better players and we need 1-2 top signings in January but there are still things which he can do at the moment which he isn't out of stubborness which is what is annoying some of us

1. Not playing Gordon over kak like Siggurdsson and Bernard

2. Constantly changing the system/CB's which means we can't gel and get some team chemistry

3. Playing Delph and Davies over Nkounkou

4. Keep playing Pickford despite him making the back 4 petrified every week

These things he can easily change but he doesn't and its costing us points every week thats why people are annoyed mate.
You know what, I don’t always agree with your posts, but, it is very hard to argue with any of that. I think Carlo will get it right here eventually, but, he really needs to get back to basics here. He hasn’t got the players fit enough and the players he has here, in general, are just not good enough to adapt to constantly changing the system.

Nail on head! We’re allowed to ask questions without being shut down with “bedwetters calling for the managers head”.

Not saying for a moment Carlo should be sacked or that it should even be a consideration, full support from me. There are very legitimate questions around the issues you’re raising though. They’re his decisions and haven’t been good ones at the end of the day.

It's about opinion obviously, but I thought we were comprehensively outplayed in all departments. Looking at our present form I can't see us being above them come January.

Of course it is mate. We all view the game differently. I thought our attack outplayed their defence but we just didn't take our chances.

Never noticed Ancelotti had made this comment before: “I'm not here to develop players, I'm here to try and keep Everton at the top.”

That's extremely worrying for me considering a. We're not even close to the top to begin with, and b. How on Earth can the club move forwards if we don't develop players just keep shelling out money for new ones? Makes a mockery of the DoF process.

We are used to want to seemanager developing players. Ancelotti has a very different mentality. Of course it adds more pressure onto him, but it's a change in outlook for the whole club. We may only see the best of the team after Christmas though, when he's had longer with them.

It wasn't even, they outplayed us and play the game in the right manner but seem to struggle with their conversion rate. They also have a problem defending set pieces, that's why they are below us. I actually enjoy watching them more than us because they have a go. That comes with a price as they may lose games.

I didn't see that really mate. I saw us score 2 goals, one narrowly ruled out, one bizarrely ruled out (off Leeds player). I also saw us score 3-4 clear goal scoring opportunties in the first half, and more in the 2nd. I've seen us outplayed in games, and games where we didn't have a single shot on goal. That wasn't one of them.

May only see the best team when we've shelled out millions and millions more on experienced players.
