I think the word "overachieving" needs to be used in relation to the job the Don is doing with this squad of misfits. This run of four straight wins has happened without our four best players, by and large. Even if you were to say that Koeman and especially Silva underachieved with the same players, Ancelotti has come in and made them so much more effective. To be second in the league given the adversity - and general mediocrity of much of these players - is a stunning impact inside 12 months.
We'll have plenty of ups and downs until he has his own men in most positions, but we couldn't have legitimately hoped for more within 12 months of his appointment - and all the more so when you consider that much of this has been delayed by a pandemic. We're getting our money's worth from Carlo!
