I'm loving that he's breeding confidence in the players, he can change a system or play someone out of position and they give 100%, soon the team will feel they can go into any game and win no matter what style we play or who's injured, he can tell them they've done it before and we was successful, Carlo Ancelotti is building that belief and we're getting there after just 12 months

I adore his integrity. Never gets lured into talking bollocks and never over complicates things either.
Another excellent point. He never does the Klopp-ian litany of excuses, never slags the opposition, or gets drawn into criticism of our own players. At most there may be some mild comment on a refereeing decision, but he really is a class act. Final point; he never tries to dress up a crap display as 'magnificent'. The man truly is Carlo Fantastico, Carlo Magnifico.

It’s very fair to be critical of Ancelotti when needed, last night could have been one of those nights to had we lost, it doesn’t make you any less of a Blue than those that overly support him

What we are seeing from him, more so than any previous manager, is the ability to change a game if something isn’t working and not stubbornly sticking to one formation no matter what ala Martinez and Silva. That’s why we sit 4th this lunchtime and will be minimum 6th by 10pm tonight if results go the way they should at Hotspur Stadium a

I dont think anyone is suggesting he is exempt. Its more reactionary to some of the balloons on here that seem to fail to grasp the bigger picture. Last night when that team was announced. It was like someone through a lit match into a fireworks box. Well we all knew what his lack of options were and who was and was not available. What was the outrage, that he never pulled mbappe out of his arse at the last minute? It was either tosun or it wasnt. And thats the whole point. Half a season has gone. United are top, solskjaer has rashford martial greenwood and cavani as firepower to choose from. Ancelloti has calvert lewin and thats it. They are 4 points ahead.
The replies are reactionary to some on here who genuinely dont seem to know the difference between a games console and reality.

Couldn't agree with this post more.

My first thought was 'interesting', it certainly was not a blood and thunder anger episode. The massive surprise was when Keane said they were told a couple of hours before KO, it looked like they had been playing the formation/positions for a while.

Loved the confusion from the commentators, etc. In the initial team across the bottom of the screen they had a back 3 and then Holgate in midfield and then the formation visual had Godfrey in midfield, in the end they were both wrong and Ancelotti had them looking like fools :D

Another masterpiece of a result last night considering the options at his disposal.

I can see Ancellotis logic in playing without a central striker and he chose Sigurdson for this role. It didn't work at all. OK, we got the result, but Sigurdson didn't do anything last night. We have witnessed this so many times with him in advanced midfield and deeper and he's just invisible and it's like playing with a man less.

You could have selected your nan to play upfront last night and you'd get the same result.

It's my only criticism really. At times I'd prefer to see a youth player or Gordon in that role other than Sigurdson.

I think it's really harsh to brand a professional who tried his best for our club a 'fraud'. I get it with, say, Schneidelin, and have accused him of as much myself. I think it's fair to call Allardyce a fraud, because he tries to create this mythical image of his abilities, when he's a basic, meat and potatoes, old school, play by percentages football boss.

But Silva, like Bobby Brownshoes before him, tried desperately to turn us round. Both aged visibly. Both seemed in constant pain, and unable to articulate what was wrong and what they were doing to remedy it. Neither solved the defensive failings and both paid the price. But fraud? Not for me, Jeff.

not convince mate, we lost around half a dozen games in Silva last season due to his stubborn believe on his ridiculous setpcs setup. He had us playing in a style that was complete mismatch with the players available. He openly defend his defensive setup and say he will not change. Self serving fraud.

Ancelotti manage to stop the leak and adapt with the players available and there’s no comparison really. Lots of win with a single goal simply because we don’t concede like we did under Silva.

Did you watch the last two cameos from Gordon ? I don't dislike him at all but he is not ready yet .

He really is a class act and conducts himself just as an Everton manager should. I’m sure Messrs Catterick and Kendall are looking down and nodding in approval.

The biggest improvement for me is the away performances. When was the last time an everton manager won 3 away games on the trot? Would love to see a comparison over the last few managers we've had.

Adrian Durham just discussed and analysed the match.

"The best coached performance of the season".

Not just Everton games, THE season.
I think the best decision was taking Gylfi off just before he was about to float that corner to the keeper.
