As much as Pickford buggered things up that goal was coming. We were terrible in terms of our tactics tonight. It needed changing 10 minutes into the 2nd half but was allowed to drag onto its inevitable conclusion.

We were bossed in the midfield. I thought Gomes and Davies done alright but their three and sometimes even four in there completely overrun them - we needed an extra body in there.

He's got to start bringing us back to a balance between defense and attack. Saturday is the perfect chance because Newcastle are horrendous. Get Digne back in at LB and play Iwobi from the start. That team before James went off and with Doucoure back is really good both attacking and defending.

Without our midfield pair, we’ve done ok. Carlo defensive, but he would have got 3 points had the keeper not practically booted it into his own net.
DCL and Richarlison should be scoring as well. Nothing the gaffer could do tonight, but score or save them himself.

Pickford being in goal is on Carlo. It is obvious to almost everyone at this point that Olsen is a more consistent player.
