It’s great to see. He’s been hired and fired by elite clubs, so he’s probably very happy to be in an environment where the players are fully bought into his management and the club and fans delighted to have him.
Case in point the club we play Monday who he already spanked. Do the other cheek carlo!

I still find it unbelievable that a large majority of what ive posted in the carlo ancelotti thread this season has been defending him against other Everton fans. As have a lot of others. He's now dropping pointers to recruitment for next season. Wasnt that what it was all about. Give him 2/3 years to turn it. There was no other way.
Im sort of loathe to be optimistic because being an Evertonian you usually take an upper cut right to the chin just when you start to. But his talk of recruitment this summer has wet the appetite. Go on Carlo. Use your standing in the game to bring in just 2 or 3 quality signings. Bit by bit improving.
The despair of sitting 18th 15 months ago under marco silva is a distant memory.

He is one of, if not the best, thing to happen to the club in the last decade.

Roberto was fun, but there was too much bluster ultimately not backed up with anything of substance. With Carlo it just feels like he means business.

New ownership is very important, despite false starts. Signing Lukaku was boss, as was attracting James. But Carlo is the one who'll push us on I think.

I may live to feel the wrath of the vaults with this post.

FULHAM AND NEWCASTLE LAD, THE STREETS NEVER FORGET

Wow and I thought it was just me who thought that the majority of our squad are cack.
Think you've been a bit too harsh though Bri .
I think Godfrey and Keane would play regularly as would Doucoure and DCL.

I have read some of your previous comments about DCL and whilst I also have reservations about how clinical his finishing is I think Carlo loves the work rate and physicality that he brings to the front line.

I actually think that he and Richy will make a great pairing.

Doucoure is a strange one because he brings so much energy and dynamism to the midfield and we have no other player like him. However he is wasteful in possession and I agree that if money was absolutely no issue that Carlo might eventually look to upgrade.

I see Godfey only getting better and being in this team for the next 10 years.

I think Carlo likes Keane but again I'd agree that there is the potential to bring in a better replacement eventually although personally I'd see that some way down the list of priorities.

Like you say DCL is a forward who does a lot more than get on the end of chances. His ability to win duels, hold the ball and turn with it are massively important to the transition. When the team are under pressure he's a fantastic pressure release that helps stop the ball coming straight back into our half after every clearance.

Even if he doesn't get an assist he has often played a much more vital role in the goal than the person who hits in the final pass.

He's like the older fashioned number 10 when it was the supporting forward / target man role rather than the advanced "in the hole" midfielder it has become.

Those moaning about the playing style are the ones who lauded a much worse one under Gravy Baps. Make of that what you will.

To achieve fourth or fifth place with this squad is really very good indeed.

There's no saying what we can do providing he sticks around and is given some top players next year.

I love listening to Carlo. His regard for Fergie is genuine. In his book, he mentions asking Sir Alex up for a glass of red after a tie at Milan - an Italian bottle worth 60 euros. Alex reckoned he'd get one worth 600 euros if it was Inter!

I was thinking before though, who do we change to improve the football massively? Does a right back instantly make us play free flowing football?

I think the following players are a shoe in when fit

Pickford
Keane
Godfrey
Digne
Doucoure
Allan
Rodriguez
Richarlison
DCL

That leaves question marks over rb and maybe another athletic midfielder.

But the above list that's a lot of players who won't be going anywhere and sometimes this lot struggle to put 5 passes together.

Its definitely something we've got to be looking at and the reasons why we've had a lot of games where the football has been of a poor standard imo.

Hopefully we bring in another 3 quality players, rb, right sided forward/winger and another energetic box to box midfielder.

I also think our levels performance wise drop off a cliff as soon as we start having to use back up players such as Iwobi, Bernard, Gomes etc and shows you our lack of depth.

I don't always agree with the rotation of Ancelotti but you can't knock him the way he's trying to keep everyone fresh and avoid fatigue injuries. He's certainly trying to look after his players and keep them as fresh as he can in preparation for the run in.
Definitely agree about the box to box midfielder, too little pace for us in the middle of the park, another Doucoure would do.

We need to be a deal sharper in midfield. Gomes looked like an old man in the first half v WBA but perked up a bit later on.

The midfield used to be the place where the maestro would put his foot on the ball and look around. No longer - it's pass and move.
