I still find it weird how people are still giving him a pass on his culpability for how the team ended the year. 'her optically was surprised how the ten let him down" "he most likely didn't expect them to do nothing after the Anfield win",

It was his job to get them ready every match and, apparently, he did feck all every week except stand like an empty shell on the sidelines.

It's nothing to do with integrity. He got a far, far better offer and owed us absolutely nothing.

He signed a long term contract.

He and his son openly stated how happy they were and were looking long term.

He wrote a book which stated that he wanted a long term project to build up a team.

If walking away doesnt show a lack of integrity and hypocrisy then the definitions of the words should be changed.

At the end of the day it’s Real Madrid. You can hardly blame him. It would just be very satisfying if he failed miserably.

At least Carlo has saved me from having to finish reading his book.

That would be ok if he hadnt bleated on in a book and multiple interviews over the years about wanting the exact same job he had at the club...

...and done the same with his son while he was at the club....over and over again.

Doesnt matter who hes gone to...hes proven himself to be a liar and someone with a lack of integrity.

Hopefully he flops.

Not sure it’s fair to call him a liar. He’s just a bit of a bellend.

Im not sure what else to call a bloke who (as i said);

1: Wrote in a book that he wanted a long term project to build a team.

2: Stated in interviews over many years that he wanted a long term project to build a team.

3: Moaned that he believed PSG was a long term project and that was what he was looking for

4: Announced to fans that he loved the place and would like to extend his contract as he wanted a long term project

5: Allowed his son to echo his sentiments not long ago

6: Rubbished the Madrid links 2 weeks before jumping ship

Hes a liar, hypocrite and has shown himself to have a lack of integrity.

Not to mention mouthing off at how Everton are aiming to achieve europe and Madrid want to win things...

That goes against his sentiments of wanting a long term project and instead points to a desire of short term success.

Totally tarnished his reputation.

We paid him £11m a season and he was on a 4.5 year deal.

Of course he 'owed us' something.

What do you think we were paying him for? If he's not delivered what we were paying him for, how is he not in breach of his contract?

What does he owe us?

The club cancelled his contract.

He probably was happy, he just got a better offer.

He wrote a book, so should now be turning down Real Madrid for Everton?

Explain how integrity comes into it other than the fact that he didn't tell us that he would always go back to Real, which would i) have been pointless and stupid and ii) he's under absolutely no obligation to do anyway.

The only thing that I understand from this perspective is that Real were a ESL club. But they're not going to be playing in one any time soon. He's not going to turn the opportunity down because of that.

Never playing nkounkou and palming off Gordon showed he was not here for a project and not that interested in development either in my opinion.
By leaving when he did he certainly didn’t prove he can do anything with a team that isn’t filled to the brim with superstars

Every single manager in our history would have left if real Madrid was in for them.
