Carlo At Everton.

I don't blame him for leaving

Imagine that you have no real connection to Everton in any way and you're offered the chance to manage Everton or Real Madrid

Literally only the most entrenched Evertonian's are staying here

It is what it is

It could be frustrating sometimes when he was manager, but he got a decent enough return out of a pretty cack squad and he gave us that win at Anfield after years of trying

Nothing but love for the A Man

People give a lot of leeway to that signing because it was an Ancelotti pick, but he had about as much impact as Schneiderlin did here. Possibly less.
Got a few quid more back though comparatively? schneids walked for about 1.5 million euro's didn't he? An abomination that should be etched into the new stadium to remind us it was man utd that stitched us up on that deal and then some.
As for Allan, he was a Carlo man, like martinez brought alcaraz and kone and a few others so he had support for his (lack of) methods in the new dressing room. koeman brought in martina, Moyes brought in Kilbane, it's the done thing, get a few pals in the ranks to buy into the vision and smoke out the snakes.

That’s all fine, but he cost £20m and those players didn’t. So it was a worse signing than all of them.

schneiderlin cost £22million didn't he? that was the direct comparison. the other players were mentioned because of managers liking to bring in a friendly face, see Moyes signing Fellaini at man utd and also trying for Baines for instance. Smith did the same with Gough. This has become an intriguing question. Former managers here that signed players having played in their former sides.

Yeah I was on about the other players who were the managers’ mates. Schneiderlin is a direct comparison because they cost similar amounts, left for similar amounts, and had a similar non-impact on the field.

Allan never got boo'd on. He was at the end of his mobility and the PL is a cruel mistress for time. Wrong signing but who's arguing with Carlo? I see Carlo similar to Collins, ~ "I got sold on promises that were never meant to be fulfilled".

Agreed. A lad could come through the academy, be the first name on the teamsheet and have a top earner contract waved under his nose. He'd still be straight over to the likes of Madrid or Barca.

Mad to think there's people who can't get their heads around Ancelotti leaving and believe Everton have got a fraction of the pull of Real Madrid.

The all-time example is Martinez signing Alcaraz

Reckon he would leave Real Madrid if his daughter was burgled over there?
Who knows back in 2013 in his first season at Madrid had he been robbed while a close family member was present pretty sure it would had effected him had it happened, thankfully he or we wont know if he would react the same.

Pretty sure his son has stated for the record it was about money to spend on players that was suggested they could spend was never a reality thus basically implied they were lied too... Add to fact he was robbed at home in his first season at Everton which his daughter had to endure. Makes it pretty easy decision to leave.

I reckon he just left because we’re crap and Real Madrid are good mate.

We we're top 5 for most of the season, fell away by the end, and were 3 points from Europe and 8 from top 4.

Post him we have had 3 relegation scraps.
Mainly due to us having to sell players rather than his management, I would say. Although, there is no doubting his managerial career.

He had Digne, Richarlison, Sirgurdson, James and a fit Calvert Lewin/ Coleman. We've lost those and replaced them with Mykolenko, Mcneil, Harrison, Young and Beto.
