So many cats - so few recipes
If you could look at the real cat, the very essence of cat
It would look and act like the wee beastie that popped out of John Hurt in ALIEN
Dont get me wrong. I love cats, they are amazing animals!

But they are inherently evil murderous barstewards..

There was a cat in our garden on sunday, quite a young cat. She was walking slowly across the grass when suddenly a butterfly took off next to her and her first reaction was a huge leap with claws outstretched, caught the thing mid air and proceeded to chew it to bits...

Knowing this forum, this could end badly but I’m after a bit of reassurance if possible?

moving house in a couple of weeks, cat is 13 and loves going out.
Has only lived in this house since we got him as a kitten.
I love the little knob to bits and worried sick about him getting lost after we let him out after a month or so as recommended.

anyone have any similar situations in the past ?.
Please no bad news stories

We moved to the US from the UK when two of our cats were a similar age and they had been used to being fully outdoor cats.

The first few days, especially after the stresses of the long trip over, were a bit tough but lots of tlc and playing with them got them settled in quite quickly. After the month indoors we supervised their first few outings and they adapted to their new home well - we did decide to no longer let them out in the dark though because of coyotes and that was their main wandering time.

Hope all goes smoothly with the move x

Thanks very much.
I’ve just bought a gps collar as well on the chance he escapes during the month being kept in.

When we were living in London two Springs ago, this cat would come over from the neighbor's house and play with the kid. It's a very cool cat, and apparently they cost a lot of money. But if I had 1K of disposable income, I'd buy one...they are wicked cool!

Reese chilling out this afternoon. He is the king of our garden. Totally agree with @Tramps_mate cats are delightful creatures but they are also murderous barstewards and they are quite selective about their kills too. Drives me crazy Reese’s tendency to kill birds. But then he does nothing bout my neighbor’s chickens that invade our garden and dig my new plantings while he calmly looks at them. I certainly have more feline instinct than him when it comes to chickens munching on my garden lol
