Says in the article “similar to the previous arrangement around £9.6m per year”, this Cazoo deal though doesn’t include the women’s team or academy teams, allowing them to negotiate separate deals for those teams!

Alexander Edward Chesterman OBE (born 9 January 1970) is a British internet entrepreneur he was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013[1] and in 2017 named on Debrett's 500.[2] He is currently the founder and CEO of online used car platform Cazoo[3] - which is aimed at transforming the used car market in the UK.[4] In December 2018 Chesterman raised over £30m in pre-seed funding [5] and then went on to raise a further round of £50m pre launch for Cazoo[6]. He launched the business in December 2019[7]. In March 2020 he then went on to raise a further £100m for Cazoo[8][9]. He is also the founder of the property website Zoopla in 2007. Zoopla became digital media business ZPG Plc (LSE:ZPG)[10] a FTSE-250 listed company and owns brands which include Zoopla, uSwitch, PrimeLocation, Money and Hometrack and employs over 1,000 people in the UK. In July 2018 ZPG Plc was bought by US private equity business SilverLake Partners for £2.2bn and delisted from the FTSE 250.

Cazoo has announced that it has raised a further £25m of pre-launch funding.

The company has now raised more than £55m ahead of its planned launch later this year.

The latest funding round was led by existing investors including dmg ventures (the venture arm of DMGT plc), Stride.VC, Octopus Ventures and Entrée Capital with the new funds to be used to further grow the team and invest in marketing and operations.
