Confirmed Signing Cenk Tosun

Anyway mates, I have been reading this forum since the rumors started; one thing that struck me is how arrogant some of fans here. I had lived in London for 4 year during my PhD years and never witnessed such a thing from Arsenal or Chelsea fans.

Yeah, Premier League is better than Turkish league as well as Portuguese, Croatian and Dutch leagues but this doesn't necessiate that a player who plays well in one of these leagues cannot play well in PL. We know that many players who play very well in La Liga (or Serie A) can't succeed in PL, this doesn't mean La Liga or Seria A is under-qualified - it means they just don't have what PL requires.

So when you consider Cenk Tosun for PL, don't get stuck to industrial football's prejudices (i.e., a player from Croation or Turkish is necessarily bad); just look at how he performed in CL and Turkish league and evaluate correspondingly. Cenk has a perfect finishing, strength, positional knowledge and work ethic; on the other hand, he isn't that effective when opposition parks the bus and he should be more aggresive when he is marked tightly.

A club who paid £16m to Niasse cannot really complain about paying £25m to Cenk. Anyway, the only reason I am 'okay' about selling Cenk is that we are up to financial fair-play regulations which is we cannot buy any players without selling one. Otherwise, I am sure we can get better offers for him at the end of season (considering a market where Van Dijk worths this much).

If this transfer happens I believe Everton fans will be happy and if not I know Besiktas fans won't be unhappy.

Cheers!

Just got an inside information from the club - Besiktas has accepted Everton's offer, will be finalized tomorrow. Take care of our Tosun, lads!

Cheers

Agreed just sign Moussa Dembele instead.

Both unproven but at least one is young , has potential and won't ask for wages of £140 k per week
We can't possibly be paying a player who has never played in a top league 140k a week.

Robson kanu played well in the euros.

A few goals in the CL mean nothing.

Grab a striker looking for a loan to get game time before the World Cup and give the money to the new regime in the summer. It has gone far beyond a joke.
