Why not pick up Aleksander Mitrovic on loan with an option to buy, seems all of these small forwards need a big man to play off of, he's a great header of the ball, can hold play up, he wants out of newcastle and Rafael doesn't like him, he's young and outperformed lukaku at Anderlecht just needs a club to develop him.

Could still buy cenk with him on loan too..

I really like Mitrovic but he didn't outperform 16, 17 year old Lukaku. He might have scored more goals but that was that. His second season was sublime, I particularly remember his 90th minute goal in the 3-3 against Arsenal (Arsenal giving away a 3-0 lead at home). Anderlecht was a very dominant team that year, they only played on the opponent's half (a bit different from present Everton tactics). Same year when they ended before Galatasaray in the CL group.

He wants to go back to Anderlecht for the remainder of the season to have a chance to go to the WC. Newcastle only want to sell though so that's not happening.

I think he just needs a change of scenery and a manager to polish him up he's still a bit of a rough diamond at the moment but the potential is there and he already has experience in the PL, just a shame he's been not given game time.

Rafael said he is willing to let him go on loan as long as there is the option to buy included in the deal, this seems a great opportunity to try him out for ourselves to me, if he does well then pay the fee if not he's extra cover that's sorely needed for the season and at the end send him back.

But I think he will put a shift in and be on top behaviour as he has those world cup aspirations motivating him so he is going to want to be playing regular football, his wages are only 60k too, way lower than the wages being chucked at players by Walsh at the moment lol.

Such a negative Nancy aren't you mate :D lighten up it's a forum.

To be on topic I think Cenks a good choice as a number 9, he is a very clinical striker which is what Everton lacks but he is used to having support so something would have to change to accommodate him I reckon.

Have you been on here before Gareth?

this lad says on the comments section;

Cenk Tosun said: "the transfer process will be clear after the president of Besiktas comes to the club tomorrow."

Of course, just lurked only made my account because of my excitement over this deal, it feels like this is a turning point for Everton, finally got a manager who has seen the weaknesses, got so annoyed when Koeman didn't buy a LB and a replacement striker in the summer

In fairness to Koeman, he was very clear he wanted a striker and defender. That is on Walsh and Moshiri for me.

I did read somewhere the Besiktas president was away on hols until later this week. Begs the question of what Walsh was doing in Turkey last week if the president of the club wasn't there? I'm led to believe he does the transfers.
