This shows why Silva has to go. Why would anyone play the 'lethal' DCL ahead of anyone. I have a 6 year old niece who poses more of a goal threat than DCL!

It's a toss up, but DCL has a better goal ratio than Cenk...
But it's debatable ATM either could start but I have seen a more hungry Cenk lately, maybe the penny has dropped...
Not sure why, but our strikers seem to be better/more effective when coming off the bench. They seem so anonymous as starters.

What would we lose by playing Cenk and DCL in a 4-4-2? I know the midfield would need to be a bit more compact and dynamic but Siggy needs at least a game on the bench with Gomes alongside him. Dogs of war attitude on Tuesday "nothing to lose" after Saturday and that debacle.

Don’t know why but I feel the same about him , which given how I regularly feel about most of our squad is about as glowing as it gets .
No bait, just straight up facts. Tosun is very good at heading the ball & there aren't many strikers in the world better than him in regards to both footed finishing; Inside or outside the box.
His issue lies in his physical attributes, lacking the necessary pace & strength to make up for his small stature.
Give him pacey wingers that actually know how to cross & a faster playmaker & he will thrive. Maybe not as a starter for any of the Top 6 but he would still pop up with 10-15+ goals in the league as a backup option.
Salah had the physical attributes to become a top player, not the technique.
Tosun already has the technique but will never be able to make up for his lack of pace/strength, so he has probably peaked while Salah at Chelsea was nowhere near his peak.
But one thing people refuse to give Tosun credit for is how clinical he is. For every chance he misses the other top strikers miss 3-4, but when we don't have good enough players to feed him & the fact that he rarely gets to play, he gets unfair criticism for the few chances he will miss (or the GK makes a brilliant save)
It is no coincidence that Walcott/Richarlison & Sigurdsson started playing worse once Tosun was benched. I said this earlier in the season & I'll say it again, when we're at our best Tosun is usually the vocal point of the team, i.e the most important player. Even when he doesn't score or assist he opens up for the rest of our team, being the 3rd pass to the goal or allowing Gylfi to play his natural position & thus dictate the game as he is supposed to. Gylfi is very obviously our best player but not necessarily more important than Tosun at the start of the season.
A lot of the bumpkins on here fail to acknowledge just how important Cenk is to the team, nor realize just how detrimental it is to the team having DCL or Richarlison upfront.
Having those two numbnuts on the pitch at the same time is just embarrassing. Two one-dimensional players in each their own aspect, that do not at all suit each others playstyles.

May as well give him a game at least he can finish if given chances. He can't make his own chances and badly lacks pace but his finishing is decent and hr works hard.
