Would love to read his scouting report before we bought him - no pace or strength, limited movement off the ball but has a decent shot on him.

Was never going to succeed in the premier league - possibly the most brainless signing of recent times although there are some other contenders.

At £27m he’d be the club record signing for six of the current premier league teams - hopefully anyone involved in his signing has long been shown the door

I recall Allardyce saying something about an algorithm company providing data which indicated he had the qualities to succeed in the Prem.

He's not going to agree to that when the club will be doing his op, recovery and rehab is he? We are stick with him now until his contract runs out, thankfully next year is his final one

He will be out of contract next summer and there is no way the club is offering him a new one anyway so hopefully we let him go early in Jan if thats the case.

He's not going to agree to cancel his contract whilst the club are offering first class medical facilities - that would be nuts and you dont blame him, as frustrating as it is for us

Just a terrible situation all round as im assuming we had budgeted for getting him off the wage bill next year

Pity it didn’t work out here and pity his injuries have resulted in him sitting on the treatment table for the last 2 years of his contract.

Wishing him a speedy recovery like but what a failed transfer this has been, only ever fitted in to an Allardyce system. Wouldn't call him one of our worst transfers just a pretty big failed one. Think this is his 2nd serious knee injury now. Will be a case of us hoping to cast him off in January 2022 on loan till his contract expires.

Looks like he wanted to sit on his salary and only took the besiktas move as he would have had one year left on his contract post loan.

Misses Euro 2020 and now has possibly half a season next year to 'prove' he's worth a club signing him.
