Not even an off day; tactically they aren't set up to succeed. A blind man can see the problem here - no Fernandinho/Rodri means no pivot for attacks to start off from, nor any protection for the defence to balls in behind into space.

How many times has Guardiola over thought his team for big games. Tinkering with formation too much and players in the wrong positions. It never works.

Just play your best team in a formation they're used to. Get a DM on, pref Fernandinho, get an actual striker on, switch Foden to the left (hook Sterling) and de Bruyne to midfield.
