Arsenal just got a bye to the next stages with that group.

At the same time, there's no pathetically weak team in the group either - no chance to rest their entire 1st team.

At least in the other groups there's an FC Zurich, Kazan, APOEL, Maccabi Haifa or Unirea (who the hell are they?!)

I dont, Lyon are pretty poor recently, Fiorentina are very average and Debrecen arent the best. For me Uniteds group is the hardest.

I think it's the type of group Liverpool will hate. They always do when they have to take the game to the opposition in Europe rather than sit. They made it through by the skin of their teeth when they were paired with Besiktas and Marseille. They'll struggle with that midfield of theirs. They've been a shambles - Mascherano included.

Yes but the race for second, third & fourth will be way closer than in the other groups
quite an exciting group for Belgian internationals though, Arsenal has Vermaelen, AZ has Dembele, Martens, Swerts & Pocognoli (apart from all reasonably regular belgian internationals, Dembele being the star) and Standard has Defour, De Camargo, Witsel.

Olympiakos has no Belgians, therefore they will finish fourth. I have spoken.

"We have just too many problems, I cannot remember an injury situation like this," bemoaned Benitez.

Great to see him sinking isn't it? I know all blues will be comparing Everton and Liverpool's injury woes and cursing Benitez's whinging, but I love every minute of this. The United game is hanging over him like an axe and he still has three days of defending himself before it. It's superb to see the arrogant Francoist [Poor language removed] on the back foot defending himself from his own 'loyal' support.

Word of the day: Schadenfreude. (y)

"The criticism aimed at Rafael would be that he had signed 67 players and if you are missing two or three you don't look anything like a team that can win big games in the Champions League or the other Premier League contenders."

Souness. **** but talks sense.

Thing I dont get is that some fans are blaming the owners. The same owners that gave him the money to buy Torres, Johnson, Robbie Keane, Aquilani, Dosenna, Skrtel, Cavaleri, Ngog, Riera, Masherano, for £100mill+ (minus deals, and ins and outs). How farcical is that?
