Charity bike ride to BMD

As a break from the endless relegation torture we are all enduring I thought I'd try and mug you all for some money for charity! (Mods - I've checked with the boss, he said it's OK)

Next month, 16th -18th June, I'll be cycling from the Bannister Prentice Community Stadium (home of my local non-league team, Garforth Town AFC, the Mighty Miners) to the site of our new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock. The route I'm taking is about 150 miles and a proper cyclist would probably do it in a day but because I'm a middle aged man who isn't a proper cyclist I'm going to do it over three days.

I'm raising money for a charity called Zarach, who provide beds and bedding to underprivileged kids who have often never had one of their own. You might have seen them on the TV or heard them on the radio, I have to confess I had no idea how widespread this issue was and I think it shows how desperate the situation is in this country when working people can't afford bedframes for their kids.

If anyone is interested the link is here to learn more and/or make a donation - https://www.justgiving.com/page/kei...are&utm_term=ddd945482d754d2da0615f7fd425ed8e

I know times are tough for everyone so please only donate if you can afford to do so.

If anyone fancies riding along at any point I'll be doing Garforth - Skipton on day 1, Skipton - Chorley day 2, and Chorley - BMD day 3. DM me and I'll let you know the where's and when's.

TL:DR I'm riding my bike from Yorkshire to BMD to raise money to buy beds for underprivileged kids. Giz your money!

donated mate ;)

Day 2. Another 47.5 miles of bone shaking towpaths, East Lancs sort it out! My arse and back have made it clear they are no longer on friendly terms with me.

Rode through what is, in many ways, our new spiritual home - Burnley. Checked out The Royal Dyche pub (pic below) but amazingly they didn't serve a chicken korma!

This isn't a mid-life crisis (it might be) this is to raise money to buy beds for kids who haven't got any. Link below if you're interested. Thanks again to everybody who has donated so generously.

Last day, last time I ask for any donations (promise). 49.7 miles, taking in Goodison and then rolling down to BMD in a thunderstorm. I'm not really a replica shirt guy but I did have my old 125th anniversary shirt, it's not a Coventry shirt despite appearances, zoom in, see for yourself!

One last time, this is to raise money for Zarach, a charity that provides beds for kids who don't have one. Link below.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, I never imagined I would raise so much and you guys have contributed over £500 of the £865 I have raised so far.
