Rumour down here is he wants to go.

If he goes his modest goal contribution will be missed. Most missed however will be his link/holdup play which is very good. I despair at people only seeing one aspect of a player these days, it's a team game.

I watched a lot of him in The championship - dangerous in the centre or coming off the left. Works hard, holds the ball up, brings others into the game. He is however a very “elegant” looking player - which is why I think he gets so much derision.
I think he would have a been a good replacement for richarlison - chipped in with 8-10 goals a season - decent outlet.
Those goals last week have seriously refocused the amount that Southampton would part with him though…
