Not a fan of Adams myself, just saying that if this is the only deal we can reasonably accomplish by deadline day, as it seems we are incapable of getting in other talent, I'll take a 1 in 5 striker that better suits our play style over a 1 in 30 striker. Maybe if we surround him with some talent like Danjuma and, when healthy, McNeil and Harrison he can give us 8-10 goals and improve our chances of staying up. If it were me, I'd be playing the younger lads like Cannon, Branthwaite, Dobbin and Chermiti. Gaining valuable experience in Aug. and Sept. could well pay dividends in the second half of the season.

Thing is, Dyche will actually play Adams. Cannon ain’t getting a sniff because he doesn’t have prem experience and isn’t over 25. At this point give us anything that keeps Maupay off the field

I 100% agree that he can hold the ball up better

But we do not play in a way that builds the play through the middle whereby he can have his back to goal, hold the ball up and have runners going off him. Which seems to be his strong point

We pass it around, pass it back and then hoof it 60 yards. So can he do that.

And then most importantly he’s not very clinical at finishing according to the majority of fans from Southampton. Which again leaves us in the same situation as with Maupay

If he plays alongside a striker and took doucoures position I’d be more happy, because he’s a better footballer.

As a sole number 9 who is going to be asked to chase and challenge for long balls for the majority of games, I have reservations

But it's not just about goal scoring it's about all round target man play and providing a tsget Maupay can't do this his heat maps all say he drops deep.

Because they put thought into their signings. I guarentee you they wouldnt go spend £20m on a player like doucoure. They target players that are at least comfortable on the ball.

146 pages for a signing people don’t want and still not done thought medical had been arranged for earlier in the week. If we can’t afford him then walk away play what we have cause let’s be honest Adams isn’t making much difference if any. Play cannon Dobbin because these are the players we will need in the championship, the changes we needed was at the top of course we need them all over the pitch too but that’s not happening with who’s in charge. We either go out fighting as a fan base and do some serious protests or just let it be and watch us go down.
