Looking at the fixtures, Chelsea will want to take all 3 points here...City have Stoke away tonight.
I wouldn't start with Barkley(see my post above) because effectively him 'getting forward more' destroys the security of the midfield three, basically making them just a two again. I'd say that Barry is the 'most holding(!) of the three and replacing him with a player who can't do that job would be a bad idea. As you say, Chelsea can be clinical, they're at home, and will need watching . The one thing about Jose is that he will play a waiting game if it suits him, and thats when we've got to be prepared to take the game to them, particularly late on. Thats why I'd hold Mirallas back until the last 30 mins or so.
@everton #efc xi to face #cfc Howard (c), Coleman, Oviedo, Alcaraz, Stones, Barry, Besic, Mirallas, Barkley, Naismith, Lukaku

Barkley is far better than Naismith in tight spaces too. His control and passing is on another level. The only weakness he has over Naismith is he won't run around breaking things up like Naismith does.
What kind of game would City needed to have for Chelsea not to want the 3 points?
Bloody fixture list, always messing with our plans.

Barry has been appalling this season for the most part. I don't think there's anything to be said for the notion Barry can seal up the midfield a lot better than Barkely given how much the former's passing has deteriorated.
Barkley just wouldn't cut it in that position....the three did OK in the derby, including Barry. All about opinions!(fortunately !)
