Rooney needs to stay up top and stop drifting deep or that width will be wasted.
Unsworth has gone basics and start off with what you know, then you can tinker later on. If Beni would have played under Koeman I would have been worried but him and Unsy will know each other inside out, also Him, Davies and a Kenny will have experience of playing together.

I honestly think Rooney is going to be told to drop a bit deep and collect the ball to feet tonight. Mirallas will be almost the conventional striker coming in from the left.

Which will be needed because we have no attacking mid playmaker, so Rooney has to be the link.

I agree. You'll see a lot of movement from that front three which will be...refreshing.

I can see why he would pick Jagielka and Willliams. It makes sense to me. They are probably more familiar with each other's game than any other pairing.

It's a very strong team still.

Cahill, Rudiger and Christensen are all first teamers.

Zappacosta is back-up wing-back. Kenedy too.

Only area of real weakness is their midfield.
Cahill-English International
Rudiger-German International
Christensen-Danish International
Zappacosta-Italian International

That plus Kennedy as a back line is almost as strong as what they normally play with Azpi and Luiz. Batman has been better than Morata in some cases. Willian is always good. Musonda is extremely talented. I know nothing about Ampadu, but they are still extremely strong.
