He was terrible from the off.

I look for positioning because closing down space is probably as big an issue for a defender as actually doing stuff on the ball - cutting out passing lines etc.

Patterson is as a bad as I've ever seen in that respect.

He doesn't have the intelligence to play top flight football down here.

Did you agree with the other 90% of his post Dave or did you just see that part about Patterson and nothing else. For you're same i agree that Patto was poor, the central defenders excellent and Alcarez excellent, changed the game for us.

I found it quite odd that the referee gave an instant free kick today when Mykolenko and keeper clashed. Didn’t have control of ball in hands, yet blew immediately!

Why do we try and play out from the back when we lose control near the half way line almost every time, because we are getting beaten I would have left Beto on and brought on Chermiti and used the long ball more often to pressurise their defence more. Why not give one of our young forwards a run out now and again, probably because its Moyes in charge.

….if you never knock the ball into your central striker when he’s ‘marked up’, then you rarely pass it to him. it’s the ‘out ball’. Strikers thrive on protecting the ball when it’s played into them, it’s their job.

Patterson was poor, no other way to describe it.
