I know that @COYBL25 likes to hear of my grizzles so to save moaning in other threads I thought i'd do a thread specifically for my experiences.

So here's the thing. A friend of a friend organises this gig and over the years I get free entry as general helper, problem solver and dog's body. This year I'm in charge of flags. A great many flags which had to be installed on the top of 30' scaffold poles which each had to be lowered, the flags untangled, threaded, affixed and erected again.

That was yesterday. Today my back aches.

Last night I had nightmares about people being killed amid swathes of brightly coloured satin as scaffold poles crashed down on them in front of the main stage.

I get to camp back stage, as it were away from the hoi-palloy in the distant camp site. I pulled up with my camper van and had to roll back and forth a dozen times until my van was within half an arc second of parallel with the van in front of me, such is the ocd of my mate's mate who organises the event.

My van is now four metres from the tent that hosts the sodding drum workshop.

Red flags ?

Of course, once the drum workshop stops, I'm in the perfect position to hear five other simultaneous thumping tunes.

Go-ed. This is the place for it.

Well my last one was Creamfields a few years back, necked 1.5L of gin on the Sunday afternoon playing some ridiculously biased drinking game.

Woke up next morning in the welfare tent under a blanket wearing only my t-shirt and one shoe with festival medical staff asking me what drugs I'd taken (everyone around me had taken something it looked) and felt a bit embarrassed to only say gin.

Had to get a lift off the medical golf cart right across the festival camping sites to get to my tent and put on some underwear.

Haven't been back since.
