A grandmother is charging her family for Christmas dinner to help cover costs.
Caroline Duddridge, 63, from Fairwater in Cardiff, said she makes the adults fork out £15 and her youngest grandchildren £2.50.
"There's a few out there who think I'm a bit of a scrooge but my friends think it's quite a good idea," she said.
Research suggests cooking a traditional festive feast for a family-of-four is £5 pricier than last year.

In Catalonia things get quite scatalogical at Christmas. No nativity scene is complete without a "Caganer" (literally a "Sh**ter"). You can buy the traditional farmer or celebrity versions.

Also, there is the Tió - a yule log that you "feed" every day during Advent. On Christmas Eve, kids sing the song "Caga, Tió" (lyrics "Sh*t, log, hazelnuts and nougat, not herrings, they are too salty"), while hitting the log with a stick. Lo and behold - sweets and presents fall from the rear of the trunk. And the kids believe it's all real.

I get the neck out of the turkey and stick it in the fly of my pants like a fake nob. Then send my nearest and dearest photos of myself in loads of innocent Christmas poses with my turkey nob hanging out. Causes great offence and laughter depending on the recipient.
