with the figures that been banded about , can i just say "and the rest !!" we havent spent proper money on a player since heitinga on 1.9.2009.... since then its been frees loans and nominal fees on incoming players

outgoing = ...(i actually think teh fees and wages are more than quoted above)

Pienaar - £3m + circa £45,000 p/w in wages
Vaughn - £2m + circa £19,000 p/w
Yakubu - £1.5m + circa £60,000 p/w + leicster loan fee of ?
Beckford - £4m + circa £25,000 p/w
Arteta - £10m + £75,000 p/w
yobo - loan fee of ?
jutkiewicz - transfer fee and wages saved ?
ruddy - transfer fee + wages saved ?
lucas neil - transfer fee + wages saved ?

i estimate around 30 million + has come in through sales and savings of around 200k+ a week in wages.
i bet my left gonad that the debt doesnt come down £10 million let alone £30 mill. and i will also bet the operating cost aint reduced by 75k a week let alone 200k ..... kenwright your a rotter of the lowest order !

Everton took a massive gamble with the contract we offered Arteta last season, i think Moyes and Bill Kenwright believed we could honestly challenge for fourth. We never and then we were basically caught with out pants down as a club outside the top 4 and with our revenue streams, 5 at a push, can not pay a player 75k a week. To think Bill Kenwright is at home smiling about loosing Arteta is just stupid and its people who make stupid idiotic remarks like this that lessen the position of groups such as evertonians for change. Why cripple the club to keep a player who hasnt performed since a serious injury?

By Arteta asking to leave did we not save having to buy him out of the contract? If that is so then we could well have saved another 2 mill which means that the Arse still pay us 10 mill but we dont have to pay Arteta off. So did he in fact in a round about way got more money for the club?

Theres a lot of emotion today from everyone. Its hard seeing someone we loved so much leave us for pastures new. My 4 year old son got up this morning and the first thing he seen when i put on the tv was arteta, and he shouts in to me "hey daddy arteta my favourite player is on the tv". Had to tell him the news and talk up drenthe like he was messi just to appease him.

Only time will tell wether we come out of this whole saga better or worse. I mean drenthe and denis could be magnificent, arteta could continue to underwhelm at arsenal. IF the money made from the outgoings helps the club gain a better financial footing, and stabilises our future then the right decisions were made, as much as them same decisions are hurting us all right now.

FFS Arteta just saved our ass again.
Pienaar £2M gain, Vaughan £2M gain, Mikel £10M gain, Yak £0.5M loss, Beckford £4M gain - plus saved wages in the region of £6M after the arrivals wages are accounted for. The Yak had 1 year left on his contract so he was (accounting wise) worth around £2.5M - so this year alone we've 'made' £20M plus on transfer deals - that's a hell of a way to go about saving the club's ass...
Unless of course you'd rather we did a Pompey.

And approx £16-18m in wages saved :) hear hear

Ah man, that just nearly made me cry. I remember being 9 when we sold Duncan to Newcastle and i locked myself in the bathroom and cried my eyes out, its not nice when your favourite player leaves

Hold that Gonad Friend, if you'll pardon the phrase.

The money received could well go to reducing the debt if it arrives in one lump sum. The wages though are handed out over the year so this will only be reflected in the overheads of the club therefore the amount the club has to pay out will depete. So dont expect to see a big £-30m in the accounts come May/June.
