It's quite sad to see Donald trying to defend racism.

A poster I once respected.

That all that can be asked.

This is all getting a bit silly now so let me state a few facts to make sense of the nonsense.

- Being racist is bad, Bob was banned for a racist comment. Will this stigma follow him around for some time? Most probably but he only has himself to blame. Is Bob a racist? I doubt it, but you reap what you sow.

- Dressing up dogs does not make you a dog molestor. Depending on your sensitivities, some of the posts in the Dapper Dogs thread were certainly bordering on cruelty. Continuing to revel in posts of this nature despite their morally ambiguous nature and continual thread closure by the site owner/mods is peculiar in the extreme.

- The crusade to remove both of the above from the forum may seem excessive to some however it is undoubtedly intended for the good of the site overall.

In summary, if I was Bob I wouldn't appreciate my mates drawing attention to me at every opportunity when I'd only just returned.

Similarly for the dressed up dog enthusiasts - if you don't want to be targeted maybe try not to post a dozen or so inflammatory pictures in every thread you visit.

Tl;dr Bob is a silly boy and posting pictures of dressed up dogs will ultimately land you on a register.

Bob's Michael Jackson post was racist. Unacceptable, full stop. That does not mean he is. He would not be the first to post something truly stupid on GOT.

I would like him to explain. I don't know if he has.

The Dapper Dogs thread was pretty much daft fun. A lot of it poking fun at our friends over the water, who seem to dress up dogs they care for, a lot.

Odd posts were just wrong - Nazi dogs come to mind.

But the Ale House is full of daft stuff. I don't know why dapper dogs are being singled out for special treatment. Some old hands seem to think (on the basis of a handful - don't think there are more - of dubious posts, and one racist comment by a regular Dapper poster in another thread) that a picture of a dog in a hat amounts to a celebration of racism or bestiality or worse. Well that is utter tosh.

Please don't choose your enemies amongst your friends.
