Thanks everyone. It's doing my head in this error...

I've logged a ticket with Cloudflare and our host today - the issue seems pretty widespread;

Though, I'm still pretty certain that this;

Cache clear worked for me.

... resolves the issue.

I'm reasonably sure people who are saying it hasn't, aren't clearing their cache properly. You need to double check you're clearing the device cache - remembering Chrome has profiles, different profiles have different cache. Its something you should do fairly regularly anyway? I've just dug out an old device which I knew had the problem for one Chrome profile to demonstrate;

I say reasonably sure, as I'm only going by my own experience and most people I've told to clear the cache report the issue to immediately resolve.

iPhone has finally taken to the cache being cleared but still no luck on Mac using Chrome

Have done all the rights things so sod knows

Did you do what is on my video mate?

Also, does it happen using Chrome across different profiles? (Icon top right of browser, allows you to switch profile)

Not sure if relevant but right before I got the error for the first time, my browser downloaded a .htm text file. Similar has happened before here so I just deleted it and then was greeted by the error. Cache clear on firefox PC worked for me.

Nah;

This download dialog is due to an issue on Google’s end and is happening throughout the ecosystem.

To provide a bit of context here—the file has to do with MIME type. Typically these files will automatically download for you, however in some special circumstances (like referencing the file via a script tag) it loads the file directly rather than downloading it."

Although understandably frustrating for some users to encounter, We can assure you that this is not something that should cause concern, and Google and their ad protection partners are looking into ways in which this is preventable from happening to their clients and users.

Once I have some more information on this issue I will get back to you with further updates.

Thanks again for bringing this to our attention,
