Flights still arrived but they did not have to self isolate
Can you give me a time frame on that. When did it stop? I can't get to Britain and haven't been able to for weeks. There were practically no virus deaths there
until about March 21 according to a graph I've seen. Doesn't mean a lot weren't infected but I don't think the decision makers in one country can be accused of
incompetence for being a day or so slower in implementing measures to try to reduce the spread of the virus. I don't remember the date when Australia started to clamp down on arrival and I haven't been able to find out online.

Lockdown was eased slightly in NSW over the weekend and Sydney beaches were packed yesterday and social distancing disappeared altogether.

The beaches have been locked down again. This is exactly what I thought would happen and those who said that stopping people from sitting alone on a park bench, walking in the park or staying away from people on the beach was ridiculous now know why they're wrong.

Not sure of the exact time. My son's is working in Thailand. 2 weeks after lockdown he could still get a flight back to the UK. Are airports have never been closed.

No people's behaviour can't get us there sooner, but it can certainly push it back further and if this season goes on it is obvious there will be groups gathering all over the city and in numbers that the police cannot control. Another big outbreak just as things are looking better and that could cause a secondary (full) lockdown and delay (or cause the postponement of) next season.

True - I don't get why they can't follow.ths sensible approach of some other countries and just say right let's give ourselves til August to see how things progress and work out what to do. It's only been a month so much could change in that time!
But no, money talks and it's all about Sky and BT. Surely a deal can be made for extra games next season for them, perhaps deferred payments at various levels. The human way of doing things, instead of forcing it quickly.

I find it interesting, though I hope I’m not tempting fate here, that not a lot is coming out of Everton in regards to us being concerned about our finances during this time of uncertainty. We seem to be committed to improving the squad, Gabriel hopefully done and dusted, and our CEO saying we’re maintaining momentum with regards to the new stadium.

Hopefully it means we’re in a strong position.
The article about how our CEO saw it coming from January was very interesting. It also went from lots of pretty strong transfer rumours to nothing around that week. I think we're well prepared and very lucky this didnt happen a few years back!

And there were no restrictions on passengers arriving in Britain 2 weeks after lockdown on March 23 ? Doesn't sound right. Are you sure?

It's definitely right. No one arriving before the lockdown or after has been checked. the government said it is not worth doing as people can arrive at the airport with no symptoms and then show symptoms days later. The criminal thing for me is they were not told to self isolate so who knows if they developed these mild symptoms they go on about and then spread it about. I know new Zealand who have just declared that they have no Corona cases and Australia ensured everyone self isolated for 14 days. You can confirm that. We have had many thousands repatriated. Even last week 7000 people on holiday in India were flown back. Arrived at Heathrow walked straight out and went home. Even some of them interviewed said that they were amazed they could just arrive back and go home without getting any information Now that they are talking about lifting isolation one of the things it says the government is looking at is everyone who arrived at an airport must self isolate for 14 days. Bit late now as they say!!

Amazing. We had 130 brought back from South America a couple of days ago and they would have been put into hotels, no going out for two weeks.

I'm not doubting you, but with so much attention being given to the way Codiv19 is being dealt with around the world I can't believe that statistic hasn't been
splashed all over the media here, especially given the close relationship between our two countries. Anyway, it's late and I'm going to bed.

There on the radio talking about having 11 subs to help cope with 2 or 3 games a week. All Liverpool will do is play the fringe and blood youngsters to get them ready for next season, and not risk the top players but everyone else is expected to

If what they're bothered about is 'integrity' then you cant maintain that by changing the rules midway though, that's a sure fire way to completely destroy any sort of integrity of a competition

It's afternoon here so I'm going to answer ha. It's common knowledge here that no one is isolated when they return to a UK airport. They did isolate very early on. Brought people back from Wuhan and s cruise ship stuck in Japan. They went to arrowe park hospital for 2 weeks. But airlines were flying normally. Once cases increased they didn't bother on advice from scientific advice which said it's not worth checking people at airports. Have no idea why they didn't bother with self isolation like Aus and NZ did. But be in no doubt they didn't bother with it
