Also went a few years ago. Got bored after 10 minutes. Alexei Sayle and Steve Coogan very funny.

Yeah you can only take so much filth before it gets boring. I only stayed because the girlfriend at the time was like"come on, we're going" because she found him offensive, she gave me a choice, if I stayed, we were finished, if I left with her it would make her happy, so I stayed.

Bill Bailey - his earlier stuff, tries to be too elaborate these days.

Billy Connolly - Seems to have as much of a laugh as the audience.

Louis CK - mystified as to why he is not more popular over here as he is incredibly funny.

Doug Stanhope - Mentioned him a few times on here, probably the best around imo.

Bill Hicks - amazing how relevant his stuff still is today.

Dylan Moran - of 'Black Books' fame. Surprised he's not been mentioned on here. Very, very funny if you like the more surrealist comedy style.

I have a real dislike of the majority of these watered down 'live at the apollo' cretins that the Beeb try to forcefeed us at the moment though. Spineless, 'safe' comedy at its most tedious imo.

Quite like Coogan's scripted shows (Partridge, Saxondale, Calf etc) but as a stand-up he's not very good imo.

Sayle's Stuff was alright, but he's become rather cringeworthy whenever I've seen him on Tv recently
Alexei Sayle was probably about '98. When he was funny?

It was during his Bobby Chariot days. My mate, who loved the character, just popped out to the toilet when he delivered the "How ya diddlin', oh sod you then. Sleeping in Jag, on pills for me nerves', etc.

Stewart Lee and doug Stanhope make me laugh.can anyone remember emo Phillips.i think that was name anyway. He was a skinny gangly looking thing with a wierd voice.he seemed funny at the time but I haven't seen or heard him for about 20 years
