Computer games.

Finally got around to playing Alien: Isolation on PS4. Only an hour in but buzzing off it. The sound design is INCREDIBLE. Using a decent headset is definitely the best way to play it.

Great Jerry Goldsmith score from the '79 original and claustrophobic, nightmarish gameplay. Superb.

Don't know whether to buy the pes update or just wait for an option file.

Does anyone know whether the update will tweak some of last year's issues, i.e the lack of penalties, pretty pointless paying 30 bucks for an update if it doesn't.

Yeah, I dunno about that...that's a massive hit on the GPU side, which is exactly where you don't want to take a hit in this day and age.
Perspective though.

How many people just play the same few games over and over?

I don't think your random lad will complain about gpu if they can play the latest cod games and FIFA a year or two down the line for half the price.

How is PES vs FIFA in single player career mode? I dont play online, dont collect any idiotic cards, just like to develop a career as a manager or a player. The gameplay and especially the game mechanics of the career mode in Fifa sucks balls....

For anyone that isn’t heavy into gaming it will probably not be a problem. Most people are casual gamers anyway. Also makes it more affordable in poorer countries

Why would you buy a console if you're not in to gaming? They do nothing more than a blue ray player and a smart TV could do, otherwise.

Hard to play the latest and greatest when your GPU's gimped.

At least at 4k...that's a massive hit. It might be latest and greatest in name but it won't look like it due to GPU limitations...especially if you're talking games like CoD where they're typically pushing render boundaries in the name of realism. GPU's are at the heart of the vast majority of triple-A titles these days, it's not something to dismiss out-of-hand. As long as they're not leaving features out of game engines to accommodate lesser consoles, it's all good.

Gaming used to push boundaries with hardware but it's becoming increasingly more of a money grab...the plethora of absolutely crap phone games is proof of that and that lax thinking needs to stay out of console/PC gaming.

You can add all the cores you want to a processor but they can't compete with the raw compute power of GPU's (that you need to push pixels) due to things like branch prediction etc etc...totally different methodoligies. If it was easy, Intel would have done it a long time ago and you'd be able to play anything on your built-in Intel graphics.

A chopped up GPU doesn't extend the life of your console if you want games like CyberPunk to keep being developed.
