Computer games.

Damn, missed The Long Dark :( :(
It’s worth picking up regardless, it’s usually quite cheap.
Keep going mate. Every game is hard until you get up to scratch and then the rest of the game is a much richer experience when you adjust. I play every game on t’s hardest mode as I think that’s how they are meant to be played you must utilise every aspect of the game use the right buffers and weapons and strategies etc.

I almost gave up on gaming a few years ago cause I was just going through the motions especially modern games where you die and go a few seconds back on a save. I realised what the problem was. And games have become a much more enjoyable experience. Life’s not worth loving less you overcome hardship. Then It’s boss.
That’s why I like games with permadeath. Survival games such as DayZ and The Long Dark have that added tension where if you die you lose everything. It changes the way you approach a game. I struggle to play other games now.

There are multiple endings btw

I'll bet they're all terrible!

What’s Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla like? Don’t think I’ve ever played AC before, but might start with this one

Its very good, biggest problem is having to grind thru levelling up. Good story, Havent finished yet and not sure i’ll ever but it has good combat and decent weapons.

Got some good games lately. Noita is fantastic. Just incredible physics and the game itself never ceases to amaze me when I try to explore. Best not to try to play it to win it. Got Oxygen Not Included which is looking really cool though a bit of a time sink. Rage 2 is looking far better/cooler than the reviews would suggest. Nice satisfying combat and challenging gameplay.

Still loving flight sims in VR (I'l 2 DCS) more than anything. I had a buttkicker installed into my chair over Christmas that sends vibrations directly into my backside (yes you heard me). The sense of immersion in VR is incredible as I can actually feel the engines now. Well I say engines....

Got parkitect as well that takes me back to my rollercoaster tycoon days. Barotrauma which I haven't really tried (unfortunately may require friends) but seems interesting... and Paw patrol on a roll. The last game is the single worst thing gaming and possibly reality itself has ever produced but my 4-year-old loves it so I have to suffer through it. Sorely tempted to send it back and tell him Santa only sent it for a few days. But that would be monstrous. Wouldnt be so bad if I didn't have to play it all the time to help him! There are only so many times you can save those ducks before it begins to grate...

I'm a massive Assassin's Creed fan so obviously biased but I would definitely recommend it. The levelling up and gear has a better balance to it than any of the games since they introduced some RPG style mechanics. The combat is really good, with various different approaches based on what weapons you choose. You can wield 2 weapons of any style so you can really mix it up. The story is fine but nothing amazing.

A few things which I'm not as much of a fan of in terms of it being an AC game. The stealth is nowhere near as important in this one. There is still the option to stealth about but the nature of the setting means the stealth just isn't as effective or as fun. The world is beautiful but as it is set in England about 1000 years ago there aren't many built up areas so climbing and hiding takes a bit of a backseat. Also the game is long and can get repetitive. I'm almost 100 hours in though and not bored yet.

Personally I think I enjoyed Odyssey more but not by much. Odyssey has sea battles in it though which are a lot of fun. Maybe make a decision based on whether you are more interested in Greek or Norse mythology?

EDIT: Just seen @Death post and Ghost of Tsushima is better than both. It's quite like Assassin's Creed but with better combat. So if you are on Playstation I'd say get that first

The no map in the corner a d been guided by nature is fantastic. I have barely touched the main story for hours and hours and loving it. Beautiful art style as well. The fast travel is instant and I dont know how they technically did it. But haven't wanted to use it. I'm playing it on hardest mode and only complaint is it doesn't have a hard trophy. Very well polished too. I can go on really. But I bought it because I just bought cyber punk and refuse to play it until they fix everything. And needed something to stop me playing it. Putting cyber to shame this game. It pushes the hardware like death stranding and just as polished.

I’ll have a look at getting Odyssey first then- does have great reviews and a third of the price of Valhalla, then can always get the newer one if I like it!

Ah, I’m on XSX!

Anyone got a Series S? Obviously gonna wait till everybody has console stock back in again before I take the plunge, but how massive is the difference from the S > X. Not gonna bother with a PS this time round as I think the value of Game Pass cant really be beaten. Cheers lids.

I would wait and get the series X. The series s will age badly.

If you can wait until next month, get the all access subscription from game or smyths. 29 quid a month for 2 years gets you the series X console and Microsoft game pass which has ea access as well.
