Switch is great, would highly recommend. Lots of great games and in Zelda Breath of the Wild you have an amazing way to while away the many, many hours of lockdown

I have played that- loved it. I’ve played pretty much all the “big” games, so I’m looking for stuff that I missed or just didn’t pick up yet. As an example the last five games I played where ghosts of Tsushima, evil within 2, kingdom hearts 3, devil may cry 5 and a game called judgement- so I’m willing to play most things if they come recommended.
From the ps store, I’m looking at resident evil 3 (it’s down to just over £15), doom eternal is on offer also for £18. Also looking at final fantasy VII remake but I’m completely open to suggestions given I’ve probably got about 8 weeks to play through a few games!

Fascinating story, original gameplay mechanics, excellent combat - I don't platinum many games but felt compelled to see every inch of this

I'm about 20 hours into that thing, so happy I waited until I was on PS5 to buy it so I could chase foxes at 60 FPS at 4K.

I've forgot what the main story is as the side quests actually aren't that boring and the world they have built is just pfffft...
I love the Infinity Ward games but they dropped an almighty clanger last year with Modern Warfare and Warzone
Never understood why they spend so little time updating WZ and fixing bugs and adding new stuff. It's soooo profitable for them.

I think warzones a great game, just treyarch with their black ops franchise ruined it, never liked black ops, it’s too gimmicky
Would echo what @navidson said, Control is brilliant. Well worth playing if you haven't already. Felt very original which is increasingly hard to find these days.
I played Doom Eternal and I wasn't a massive fan but purely as it isn't my type of game. Way too hectic for me. But I could tell it was a great game so if you like that style then definitely worth picking up for £18.

do you like all the same nintendo games you played in the past and want a machine that can be portable? if yes get a switch.
IMO you could wait on a PS5 as there won't be exclusives until probably the fall 2021.
