Computer games.

Seen a lot of complaints on reddit. My first Dragon Age was the last one but I enjoyed that thoroughly.
Was hoping this one would be just a generation update, not trying to reinvent the wheel, just solid story, big world, multiple possible story arcs.
It might be good but a lot of the negativity I'm seeing uses the word wokeness, so I'm gonna have to give it a while and wait on friends to play it, as if my friends ever used the term wokeness they'd get a throat punch.
Wokeness is a weird thing to be throwing around in computer games. A few of my mates swore that TLOU2 was hideous and on their word I held back playing it for a couple of years. Needless to say, the game is a masterpiece.

I rage quit that game, not because of any characters or storyline but because of the point where I was trapped in the tiny room after letting two people escape through a window then had infected dropping from anywhere with no way to survive as I'd be using resources at regular intervals as that was the first game's style.
Also I'm pretty sure I was flirting with anything and everything in that last Dragon Age, sounds pretty woke.

That's why I asked here, because the only criticisms of the game I find revolve around wokeness from angry sweaty dorito crumb covered man babies.
Nah, it's unnecessarily strong wokeness for the sake of inclusivity that's getting bashed.

Voice acting, story, lack of actual choices, especially compared to the competition and also older DA games, are what's genuinely poor. As well as the waxpeople graphics.

I'm sorry but that's not a thing to me, and never will be.

The second sentence was what I was looking for. Have you played it though?

Yeah, a bit - all the things I highlighted are also my personal opinion. It's not a bad game overall but it's inheriting a cult - Mass Effect Andromeda basically, as it's not a terrible game overall but it's just not all that considering the franchise/fanbase.

And the wokeness part - I'd say same and I didn't mind it much, but I can see the irritation of having things pushed into everything for no reason, i.e. .
Big fan of how Baldurs Gate 3 handled it - you can be anything you want, you select it, that's pretty much it - you get addressed as the option you've selected and it's never brought up as a question and treated as a normal thing. It's a small part of the game though, all things considered, and the waxmen graphics and voice acting were more irritating. They did add some detail graphics/motion though - hair and all that - which look very cool admittedly.

Some of the choices in this alleged choice-based RPG are also nonsense - just various flavours of "the good option", which is honestly the biggest criticism the game should get. DAO/DAI were great with that but now it's just... meh.

I just expected more and didn't want to believe the negativity that came out earlier, but right now it's just not all that.

Yeah that's what I was after gameplay-wise, it looks like you described it but sometimes watching someone play it on Twitch and getting a feel for a game are two different things, I'll give it a swerve. The "woke" stuff, the over representation, that stuff never bothers me, we've had decades of straight tall white males and white big titty female leads, more is good.

I recently came across:

MYSTIFY SOCCER

Free to play football management game

It's set in real-time so one game a week unless you are involved in cups etc. For the first two weeks, you can't trade players but it will take you that long to fathom how it all works.
Sadly, most British teams have been snapped up so if you don't mind slumming it in Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, or even Romania it would be great to have a few fellow Toffeewebbers join.

To be fair, that's probably the hardest part of the game. On my second run through (on grounded difficulty setting) I was so anxious of that room I literally saved everything I had to use there. I found that place harder than the hospital at the end.

Loads of Kaisers here lately.

Anyway, finished the Mass Effect Legendary edition trilogy the other day - ace games overall. I hadn't finished the 3rd one, played like 80% of it but basically... wrongly  Did all 3 games to 100% this time, doing all the side missions, etc. etc. Will try Andromeda at some point, but tired of the series for now.

Started Fable 2 last night though, as I'd never played any of the games in the series. Buggy, but quite funny, detailed and engaging.
Just restarted my what seems like umpteenth annual play through of ME, easily my favourite game series ever, prob aside from champ man.

Immaculate world building and writing, surprised we’ve never had an ME tv show/movie.

I'm glad we've never had one personally

It is a fantastic series, a lot of world building and a lot of it great, minor plotholes here and there as well as still being buggy. The Citadel DLC also is such a nice treat.

Just got my Steam Deck. Gonna start out with playing through Portal I think, it bypassed me when it came out so I want to play through it.

Anyone got an SD? Any recommendations for using it effectively? I’ve already downloaded Emudeck and transferred all my roms over, all of which I obtained legitimately.

Portal is excellent, if only a little short. I suspect it'll lead you straight to portal 2, because you want the continuation of the puzzle.
I found the original the best (if a little short) but I think I'm in the minority.

Some of the methods others have used to beat both games are often genius tinged with mania.
