This whole depth thing is complete and utter bollocks to me, as Southampton have shown. We should have one target and that is to get into the Champions League again. We don't have the distraction of Thrusday night football which means we're going to be playing a game a week : no one takes the domestic cup competitions seriously.

Why buy a raft of mediocre to half-decent players who will have zero impact in actual games, and furthermore who you don't even trust to put in the first team?? It should be **** or bust in the position we're in. Hoard all that wasted money and throw it at someone you know will make a difference, or two players that will make a difference. Find a couple of greedy c**ts who are well good and love to be paid big money and just sign the bastards and pay them the money that will motivate them.

We've ****ed up again. Just like we've ****ed up for twenty odd years. We have a mediocre to good team with one world-class player who will be on his bike very shortly. And good luck to him. This whole " we tried to get good players but they wouldn't come ' is a smokescreen to protect what is going to be another failed season. There is no "tried" at this level : you either get it done or you don't. The only reason we're hammering teams at Anfield this season is Suarez and Sturridge. Away from home we're well vunerable simply because the players arn't good enough. And who's fault is that??

I always wanted Roberto Martinez. Every blinkered LFC fan on here can call me a traitor or reactionary but I've watched and played enough football to see we're going nowhere fast. Now we're lumbered with this new-age prophet who seems to live in his own head, there's enough room if you listen to him speak for the sub-Asian continent to be living in there.

We're as slow and predictable as we have been for the last five years, bar the genius up front. How many times are we going to have to blow the whole thing up and start from scratch??

Haha....pretty bang on post from a Kopite on the article below on their spending. I bet there are quite a few of them, and United fans, who would prefer to have Bobby in charge right now.

Was reasonably happy with his appointment. He has far exceeded any of my expectations up to this point. Early days though!
 
My one negative about Martinez so far, is that everyone is wearing Brown Shoes, my problem there is, that I always wear brown shoes and now i look like i'm copying at the match ffs.

I remember not wanting Moyes out when we had relegation scraps when he was here, but he wasn't actually doing any worse than the previous manager when that happened

I'm used to us being in the hunt now, so I'd be a lot more knee jerk if we did badly under Martinez

Just shows how our expectations have changed during the Moyes Years I guess
