Just as those that dismiss everything off hand feel born again hard![]()
I’m a scientist. I don’t dismiss anything off hand but I do like to see evidence rather than hearsay. As a rough approximation I’d suggest that 98.76% of conspiracy theories are wish fulfilling hogwash.
Not very scientific really is it?

Indeed. 2 hydrogens atoms walking down the road. One says I think I've lost an electron, other one says are you sure. First one says Yeah, I'm positiveNo, it’s a sense of humour. Scientists have one too.
Nothing has ever been different. There aren't really neural deficiencies, just methods of manipulation, as you highlight marketing for an example, but it's the search for the future, again the unknown, from weather to stock markets, and the drive of greed using fear as control. It's the play on there is more we dont know than we do know. As quite often the theory cant be proved, one way or the other, it allows the possibility to exist.
The Great Hack was a real eye opener for me. People talk of mind control by all sorts of wonderful means, but will then login to Facebook or flick through a paper. It really doesn't have to be very elaborate to get the desired effect.
A little understanding of neural science can highlight deficiencies in our unconscious workings. Therefore it becomes very easy to influence people, see marketing. Our minds love connections, and quite often doesn't tell our conscious.
That said, no effect without cause, so if your goal is to regulate the internet, coronavirus would be a great enabler.
I might steal that last sentenceThanks Keith.

100%Just out of interest, what would your more accurate approximation be?
My favorite part of every conspiracy theory is the implicit premise that someone, be they deep state operatives or financial-corporate bigwigs or Jews or Freemasons or whoever else, is actually able to exert control over human events. Ultimately conspiracy theories speak to unfounded optimism.
