Conspiracy theories

Reckon it's quite safe to say that mainstream news is a propaganda tool with an agenda of serving the system. Even amongst all the guff out there it isn't difficult to see half truths and falsehoods presented as capitalist gospel.
Yeah I'd agree with that. But it's the leap from that to believing every single thing somebody like David icke says, or someone similar. Why dismiss the news but then believe another source personally I don't watch the news because m for the reason you already mentioned

People still are tied to curiosity, there's still a need to know what's going on, think it's a primal thing.
Toffler talked about 'Futureshock' when.the pace of change brought about by technology would leave a particular age group struggling to keep pace and confusion would reign.
While we waited for hoverboards we spent little time looking at societal impacts and we haven't been.prepared, today's situation is testament to that. It wasn't a thirst for knowledge that eventually drove these changes, it was unfettered greed.
People are trying to make sense of a non sensical world, they always have if you accept that the Bible is as equally full of guff as any of Icke's books, spattered as they are with facts bound up in a fantastical story that needs, faith, to be believed.
There really isn't any difference to Icke, or any fringe commentator, and St Peter for example. Just the media is different.

Icke was just on TV commentating on Uruguay v Denmark in the 80s. His over pronunciation of some of the players names led me to be thankful that he found a new career in which he is easily avoided.

Haven't we got to a saturation point now where none of us has got a clue what's going on, what truth is or means anymore?
Has there ever been a time where truth had a definitive meaning? It's always been a very hard thing prove. It's why we still need to have juries.

Until we are able to take peoples memories out of their heads we'll never have the truth. Even them, memories can be foggy and the mind can invent things to make sense of it's surroundings.

I have a feeling the truth will always be the one thing beyond our grasp. So we will always have conspiracy theories
