Just read that for 16 years of his 27 he was ticket office manager!
So our head of football operations of 5 years previously ran the ticket office.
Wonder what his intervening 6 year were…..
He must be good or United wouldn’t have come sniffing (assuming they haven't poached him to run their ticket office), but I do find it quite surprising.

The interesting bit is that he reports to John Murtough, United’s Director of Football , someone who was involved with our Academy for a few years and by all accounts is doing a decent job at United. We always seem to bring back the wrong ones to our club

In all seriousness he is well known in footballing circles as an excellent administrator. Pretty sure he is on the premier league management committee or something like that.

I think one of the last appointments by Thelwell kinda makes his role with players redundant- could be wrong on that.

Many times I've turned up to Goodison to queue for tickets to be told, "what game are you after, we've got em all..."

"Maun Utd away mate!"

"We haven't got that!"

Then the big steward with the dyed black hair, (it was rumoured he was Eddie Kavanghs son) would shout him over, then he'd come waddling after you telling you that they were indeed on sale....

Last time I seen him he was bald as carsley.
