The west coast from Seattle down towards San Francisco and LA, is the nicest part of the USA. Really though, any place that isn't a Trump loving hick state is fine!

Here's one about America, they made money out of World War Two.
For example Britain and Russia had an Anglo-Soviet Agreement, were we gave them equipment to fight the nazis, but what did the USA do? Lend lease, they sold them stuff.

Hard to criticise anywhere with the basket case the UK has become but my image of the 'American Dream ' growing up to what's going on now is stark. Love the music, film industry, areas of natural beauty and scientific excellence. However, deeply disburbed by the treatment of Roe vs Wade and women in some sections of politics, the blinkers to the inequalities that still goes on, vapid personalities like the Kardashians becoming 'idols' .

I'm in agreement.

My dad regularly went into Iraq in the 70s. Used to tell the driver to keep the engine running whilst he did his job. Every second longer you had to stay there was just awful apparently. When the Iraqi invasion happened he used to "comedy quip" about bombing the place might actually improve it. He loved most of the middle East but Iraq he hated.

My Chinese supervisor at University got forced to go to North Korea as part of an academic delegation. His advice was to never ever go there as it was impossible to do anything other than simply breathe and smile politely otherwise you'd probably be inside a jail cell for any unknown crime they could think of.

One of the other countries is under the thrall of a regressive authoritarian bunch of primitives whose name starts with a T and the other is one of the stans which I just don't fancy.

People around here only know "shall not be infringed" from the Bill of Rights, 2nd amendment to be exact
