Only Know Berlin.

One of coolest cities in the world.

Come on Hertha!
It's all about Union now, Leonard. Their stadium is near my flat, we hear their joyous crowd every time they play. As close to a socialist football club as the modern game can handle. Everton fans should be all over them.

Anti-commercial, anti-establishment. Owned and even run by fans, only recently got promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time..
and now may be doing a Leicester!

Been to Germany a few times for holidays, long weekends etc. Always good. Always seems cheap as well, drinking, eating, car rental, hotels etc. Thumbs up from me ;)

Can't support anyone playing in Red, despite their ideologically purity.

Envy you living there!

Went St. Pauli vs Union Berlin few years back. Was having a drink round near the Millerntor and the noise the Union fans were making was remarkable. Drums, flares, banners and the noise is something don’t think I’ll ever forget.

I live in Köpenick, which technically is part of Berlin yet is more regarded as a bit of an outsider. Like Kirkby is to Liverpool, or Croydon to London. We're a good 15-20km from the city central areas.

i speak the lingo myself, essential in these outsider boroughs. But Berlin can be a very english-friendly city in the happening areas like Kreuzberg/nord-Neukölln, Prenzlberg, Fhain, Mitte, Schöneberg. Many english have made the move and get on fine. There's an active WG-market (shared-flat scene).

Rents have sadly shot up like crazy now, tho'...no longer the cheap-rent capital of Germany, it's now more in line with the other big cities. Earnings aren't great unless you're specialised.

The city has changed a lot in the last few years too, many migrations/refugees from Arab/African nations have altered the atmosphere in central areas and on public transport. Berlin has always been known to change rapidly, seems every decade it puts a new face on.

We're at a phase in life where we'll be leaving the city and looking for the quiet life in some saxony village lol But Berlin is deffo still a very interesting place for experience-seekers.

Post Covid ,went to Berlin with my son.

Hotel in Alexanderplatz.

We had a brilliant time, and can't wait to go back.

A brilliant walking city, listening to the songs of Brecht-Weill on the MP3 player.

nice! very familiar with Alexanderplatz...the TV Tower is still quite impressive: DDR-built from the 70's, one of the highest structures in Western Europe.

Aye, it's a fine walking (and cycling) city. So much to see, so many different areas with their own unique vibe.

You may have noticed the police station in the corner of Alexanderplatz...that wasn't there a few years ago. Sign 'o the times and all that. But it's actually helped, and the vibe has improved there again.

I'm originally from Norris Green mate, so nothing fazes me.

?

I am a massive Germanophile, started when we read 'Emil and The Detectives' at junior school.

i used to live in Hull & Tooting and spent lots of time in Brixton...so it's less about being fazed and more about observing a change in real-time (i've lived in Berlin since 2006).

Lived in Berlin 85-88. Loved the place.m
wow, when West Berlin was a political island. i bet that was quite the experience!
I was in the RAF. Lived at Gatow and worked at Teufelsberg. The city was dark and moody, surrounded by the Soviet’s and controlled in part by the Allied powers with Kreuzberg home to every anarchist, artist and political activist in Germany.

It was an amazing place
