Is this only in the centre or out in the suburbs too? I remember once walking from the docks in to the city centre, and there were a few decent pubs.

The locals later told us that we'd been pretty stupid doing so, as it's rough as fluff on the way.
Definitely cheaper as you head out.

There has been a couple of tourists attacked recently in the city centre and it has made national news. Knobheads everywhere though.

Haven't been into the south for ages.. old mates complaining like f about the booze prices. My father in law retired out in NI. Silly sod literally crosses the street and he's in the republic but smart enough for NHS and not dicking with his pensions. North area by the causeway is stunning coastline. Derry I'll skip thanks X
I recommend Derry myself, a very friendly city centre for me with cracking bars.

Was in Belfast for work for a few days back in March, had a smashing time, folk are dead friendly, great bars, food was superb - had the best fish and chips I've ever eaten from here:

Got a real sense of a place rediscovering itself and just wanting to get on. Hoping to get back over with herself for a visit next year with a bit more time to enjoy it.

Paddy Kielty is a good guy. He is from a small village a few miles from where I live. He, his wife and children are home regularly, they go to the local pubs and restaurants, he does charity appearances for local causes, still has the same mates, etc. His brother was playing football against my club and Paddy was watching the match, he was tormented by people wanting autographs and pictures, he never objected, smiled chatted and had his photograph taken. He was in the club after for a pint with his brother, they chatted away to everyone and anyone. I seen him doing standup when he was making a name for himself, very funny and very edgy. He once said that when he first went to England doing the comedy circuit the older comedians would say his generation knew nothing about facing an audience in the clubs and getting heckled, he said that when he was here doing gigs in republican or loyalist areas and telling jokes about paramilitaries and someone would shout out “we know where you live”, that would test your metal. Given what happened to his father I think he is a good example of what people can become. He is a good lad.
