Why? Because he’s been right about the Board since day 1 and you just can’t see it ? Maybe you’d be happier with Kenwrights boys pens stories rather than the apocalypse him and Moshiri have brought this club too
He’s just a debbie downer isn’t he? Won’t allow himself or anyone to be excited about anything.

I gave it a few minutes , couldn’ t take any more negativity. These things don’t age well , things like selling Simms and others for too little have been well discussed , it just becomes yet another opinion hardly cutting edge , so what , it’s weeks later , move on 🤷‍♂️
The esk is obviously in business and that’s his field and he talks a very good game at times. But he will always paint a bad picture Imo

I remember even john blain arguing with him on the business matters pod, because the esk was basically guessing at times.

The year we survived under lampard, he was on a space around march time, getting all his figures wrong, regarding parachute payments. Was obviously making it sound a lot worse and a guy on the space told him he was wrong and it was common knowledge. You get 55% first year 45% second year and theEsk still wouldn’t admit he’d got it wrong. Also did the same comparing Covid losses to us and villa.

He also agreed with a guy on twitter when Covid hit, that Everton’s ground build wont start now till 2025.

What is there to be excited about with Everton at the moment, an absent board , sinking without a trace financially ,investors pulling out,a laughing stock around football by how we are run, unable to even reach mid table anymore , a squad ridiculously weak in certain areas,in the bottom 3 again after spending most of the last 2 years there . People don’t want the truth but why he gets the abuse is beyond me

We had been spending recklessly but the only reason we're in trouble now is due to the sanctions on USM, Megafon, Beretta etc.

The Russian invasion must have got him so excited to say he's right we were going to go bust.

It is always going to be an educated guess by the esk as everton is not exactly open and transparent on how they're doing business. The facts are that moshiri is the only one that knows what the future holds for us. He has no interest in the club going into administration, and I think it was always a given that whilst we are building the stadium, we would suffer from a squad perspective. Also happened to spurs, but of course spurs had a much better squad than us which made for an easier transition. Clearly the hope is to remain in the league with minimum investment in the squad whilst moving to the new stadium. At that point, he can sell and make his money back, or at least a significant part of it. This year should be easily achievable to avoid relagation bearing in mind how weak is some of our main opposition. Next year might be more challenging to build a squad that can survive another year. Perhaps the hope then is to make a killer sale for 100 millions plus to reinvest in the squad.

The problem is that it genuinely looks like Moshiri has no access to any of his money as the majority of it is tied up in Russia.

If he had cash, why would the club need what was essentially an emergency loan from Andy Bell to keep the work going at BMD? Why have we supposedly borrowed another 100m plus from MSP for the same reason? Why have we only 'spent' 3 million this summer despite generating circa 100m in sales since the end of the January window?

Im confident that we'll stay up, but we face bigger problems next summer.

Ultimately the gloss on the official accountants report submitted by Everton pointed out in unambiguous language how dangerously overexposed we were financially and how reliant we were on Moshiri continuing to fund us.
It seems to me some people are choosing to ignore this clear as day warning and instead imagine that selling a few players and reducing our wage bill by a few millions will be enough to return us to rude health.
We are a long way up that creek and we only have one paddle of increasingly dubious quality.

Nope. Because he has a clear agenda and hasn't been right about everything since day 1 - if you've been following him on Twitter and even here over the years you'd know that. If you listen exclusively to him we wouldn't have had any signings the past few years and the stadium would be sinking into the docks again.

He's had a vendetta against the club cause they wouldn't listen to his little mathematical rantings on Twitter. Then also took it upon himself to be the self-appointed head of fan protests the other year... all from his comfy surroundings 1,000+ miles away from it all.

We never. Our net spent this last window was -£36m. We don't have a pot to pee in because Moshiri has lost access to his (Usmanov's) money. Other than selling players we make no income at all. Thanks Denise.

No club outside the scab 6 make lots of money (outside of player sales) as you need regular European exposure / trophies to do that.

Leicester won a league title, FA Cup, played in the CL and Europa League yet have a smaller shirt sponsor than bottom half Everton because Everton have a bigger fanbase much down to past decade successes generating a bigger fanbase globally.

Man City are probably the best team in the world yet one of their FFP charges relates to an "address" in Abu Dhabi buying over 100k club merch to prop up their revenues because they're still not on the same level commercially as clubs like Utd and Liverpool who have massive fanbases worldwide buying their gear.

This is in essence why FFP is an unfair system because its a chicken and egg scenario - you cant build a self sustainable revenue system without a lot of success - you cant achieve a lot of success without being able to afford to compete financially with clubs like Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea etc.

The fact you have so many podcasts, YouTube channels, twitter accounts, forum posters and FAB members who do not understand this concept shows why we're stumbling around like a blind fella in an alleyway.

Which comes back to the point of Newcastle's revenue has increased by near £34m a season just off sponsors linked to their ownership - even if they finish 16th this season that revenue will continue to be there and will likely grow with more Saudi based sponsors, naming rights deal for St James Park, hosting the Saudi national team matches etc. Which is exactly why we need Middle Eastern money. Groups like 777 and MSP will do nothing for us - absolutely nothing.
